Senior Android Developer

Level: Senior

Help scale FL3XX globally with an international Business Aviation SaaS team in Vienna and 20 other locations.

We are looking for digital & tech-oriented, high-energy person who wants to drive, discover, constantly improve with an entrepreneurial spirit. This position is Remote, or Hybrid if you live close to our office in Vienna.

What your focus will be:

1. Write native, clean, maintainable Android applications in Java/Kotlin using the latest programming techniques
   
2. Collaborate closely with other engineers and designers
   
3. Tweaking and enhancing our automated build and delivery process with CI tools
   
4. Ensure the best possible performance, quality, and responsiveness of the application
   
5. Become an important member of an autonomous, cross-functional team
   

What you'll do:

Month 0 to Month 3

• Study the infrastructure elements and establish access to all aspects of the system.
  
• Learn application structure and design. Fix small bugs
  

Month 4 to Month 6

• Take full ownership of projects from design to deployment
  
• Design and develop major features for the Android FL3XX applications
  
• Deploy your features to millions of users - your work will have an immediate impact
  
• Refactor old code and do code reviews
  

Month 7 Onward:

• Provide technical leadership to other engineers who are responsible for building a world-class Android communication experience.
  
• Form best practices and quality standards for market leading application.
  

Requirements

Who You Are

• Creator of cool stuff with a proven ability at providing input into the architecture and design of a project
  
• Brilliant Collaborator with 5+ years of Android SDK development experience
  
• Someone who takes action and ownership through the software development lifecycle – from implementation to deployment, and strong ability to diagnose/fix bugs/crashes.
  
• Respectfully candid with the ability to motivate people to take action and always be working on behalf of our customer.
  
• A bold risk-taker and self-starter who loves to solve challenging problem and knows how to break out codebase into maintainable and testable components.
  
• Resourceful and scrappy with the ability to be strategic and roll up your sleeves and execute, while setting coding best practices and guidelines for projects.
  

Other

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
  
• English language: Full professional proficiency/technical conversation
  
• Strong fundamentals - you know your data structures, algorithms, and OO design
  
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking and communication skills
  
• Experience of delivering and maintaining commercial Android apps in an Agile environment
  
• Demonstrably high level of Java and Kotlin knowledge
  
• Understanding of Android UI/UX best practices for building beautiful user experiences
  
• Ability to translate requirements into well-engineered solutions
  
• Good understanding of memory management, networking and concurrency in mobile environments
  
• Experience and awareness of the challenges of building new features into existing apps
