Position Overview:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Trader with extensive experience in the global food commodities market. This individual will be responsible for managing and expanding our trading activities, with a focus on pork, beef, poultry, and/or seafood. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the market dynamics, a robust network of industry contacts, and a proven track record of driving sales and profitability in international markets. We are open to specialisation in different regions, acndidates from West Africa, Latin America, Asia or Europe are highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

Market Analysis & Strategy: Conduct comprehensive market research and analysis to identify trading opportunities and trends in the international food commodities sector, focusing on pork, beef, poultry, and seafood.
Business Development: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, customers, and industry stakeholders to expand market presence and trading volume.
Negotiation & Trading: Lead negotiations with suppliers and buyers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the Group. Execute trades that align with the company's risk management policies and strategic objectives.
Contract Management: Oversee the creation, execution, and management of contracts, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company standards.
Team Collaboration: Work closely with the logistics, finance, and quality assurance teams to ensure seamless operations and delivery of products.
Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze trading performance, providing regular reports to senior management and recommending strategies for improvement.

Key Qualifications:

Experience: Minimum of 4 years of experience in trading food commodities, with a focus on pork, beef, poultry, and/or seafood.
Education: Preferably a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, International Trade, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification is a plus. Profiles with deep understanding of the market and networks will be highly valued regardless of their educational background.
Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex market data and trends. Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with a proven ability to close deals and build long-term relationships.
Knowledge: In-depth understanding of international trade regulations, quality standards, and logistical considerations in the food commodities sector, as well as the Food Market.
Network: Established network of contacts within the global food commodities market.
Languages: Proficiency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
