Job description

The bulk recyclables industry is a ~$1 trillion industry – yet is largely a technological desert. Outlast is transforming the recyclables trade through technology. Beyond connecting suppliers and buyers, we also provide enterprise account procurement, off-take, global logistics, financing, and quality control. Outlast is a recycling marketplace for the world’s most valuable materials.  We partner with major industrials to source and/or sell recycled materials in integrated, mission- and economic-aligned relationships.
We are seeking an experienced Recyclables Trader to close partnerships with leading industrials to source recycled materials. If you are looking to join a fast-paced, dynamic, mission-driven company with an earth-saving and financially proven solution to sell, join us!

Responsibilities
  • Exceed monthly revenue and margin goals by facilitating the sale of materials pledged to Outlast.
  • Maximize monthly inventory turns by liquidating materials in an expediently
  • Negotiate the best payment terms and pricing for existing inventory 
  • Leverage the Outlast platform to keep Outlast claims rates at industry defining lows 
  • Manage your contracts to completion (shipment and payment completed) - work cross-departmentally with operations to ensure the highest degree of customer service
  • Aggregate pricing from demand and help establish index and regional pricing on the Outlast marketplace 
  • Onboard any existing customers to the Outlast portal 
  • Travel 25% or more as expected for customer visits.

  • Requirements
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in the scrap industry required
  • Deep familiarity with a wide variety of scrap grades required
  • Scrap industry experience in the US Midwest, South, and East Coast is strongly preferred
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Entrepreneurial drive, discipline, and a willingness to learn
  • Ability to perform under pressure and meet deadlines
  • High comfort level with desktop software and mobile apps
  • Self-starter with a “roll-up your sleeves” mentality and a bias for action
