Job Title: Tendering Specialist - BESS Application Engineering

Location: Chennai, India

We seek a highly experienced Application Engineer to support our activity.  You will collaborate with the different function to provide dynamic solutions to our clients, including utilities, IPPs, developers, governments, and industrial companies. 


What will you do?

  • Work cross teams to pull information and resources as necessary to design and differentiate customer centric solutions.
  • Run techno-economic analysis to drive optimum design and solution.
  • Develop necessary tools and processes to drive continuous improvement in Energy Vault’s customer proposals and offerings.
  • Assist with producing engineering concept designs that accurately represents the proposed solutions.
  • Work with business development team to identify strategic opportunities.


Experience, Education and Other Requirement:

  • BS in engineering (electrical)
  • Proven expertise in 380Kv, 132kV, 33kV Substation/Underground/OHTL Primary System Design
  • Proficiency in engineering software tools such as ETAP, CDEGS, CYMGRD, EDSA, EMTD, Dialux and other electrical engineering software’s.
  • 8+ years of engineering experience with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), Renewable Generation technologies & experience in other products and systems such as drives, motors, and electrification products.
  • Experience with electrical power systems design for power generation, transmission, distribution, and storage.
  • Experience managing all aspects of technical solution proposal including site evaluation and analysis, technology selection and optimization, detailed costing and estimating and contract negotiations.
  • knowledge of relevant standards and requirements in transmission network, renewable and energy storage industry.
  • Experience in electrical design including basic conductor sizing, protection and controls configuration and familiarity with Substation design and engineering concepts.
  • Good knowledge and understanding of inverter-based power systems including basic design principles and limitations.
  • Good understanding of electricity markets and products and use cases realized by Energy Storage systems.
