BI Data Warehouse Architect (Remote)

This is a remote position.

·         Lead the architecture and design of data warehouses and related data integration processes.

·         Responsible for developing the overall solution architecture pertinent to the EDW Data model and related BI reporting requirements.

·         With the support of the lead developer the EDW architect will also provide a high-level solution architecture for the end to end Data integration, ETL development. (inclusive of Data staging, Data transformation and load into the target EDW) ; (develop and implement ETL pipelines using SSIS and other Microsoft tools to ensure robust data movement and transformation.

·         Design for loading and linking dimension and fact tables into the target EDW, (dimensional Data Model)

·         Translate complex business requirements into dimensional data models, warehouse requirements, and analytics specifications, with a preference for experience in manufacturing environments. Design documentation, as required before the build can commence.

·         Create and optimise semantic layers for analytics, enhancing data accessibility and usability

·         Develop data presentation layers using tools such as Power BI and Qlik View/Sense.

·         Document solution architectures and related specifications to support project development and implementation.

·         Perform Data Analysis and understand the Data at a content level in order to process prove the design and solution architecture.

Requirements

·         Grade 12

·         Minimum of 10 years of experience as an architect working in data warehousing and BI analytics.

·         University degree in Engineering or Computer Science. Additional qualifications in Business Management or Business Science are advantageous.

·         Extensive expertise in dimensional data modeling.

·         Proven experience in building ETL pipelines and working with Microsoft tools like SSIS.

·         Strong background in developing semantic layers and designing data warehouses.

·         Proficiency in SQL and SSIS, with the ability to develop comprehensive data views for feeding data presentation layers.

·         Experience in complex business environments, particularly in the data warehousing space.

·         Ability to develop solution architecture documentation and specifications.
