Position Summary
The Enterprise Architect is responsible for the design, development, and implementation of the organization's enterprise architecture. This role requires a deep understanding of IT technologies, business processes, and industry trends to ensure that the IT infrastructure supports the organization's growth and innovation..
Duties and Responsibilities
- Identify and assess the organization's current and future technology needs;
- Interfaces with executive and senior-level customer contacts to assist sales force in proposal development by providing design and pricing specifications, scope of work, network drawings, labor requirements and material lists;
- Design and implement new technologies to support the organization's business goals;
- Work with client business units to ensure the enterprise architecture is aligned with the organization's overall strategy;
- Maintain current knowledge of the latest market trends, industry growth, vertical buying trends and technologies in enterprise architecture;
- Gather all the relevant business and technical requirements to develop the appropriate solution;
- Develop solution statement of works that defines client expectations, platform, product and services requirements that are necessary to achieve documented client business objectives;
- Strategically collaborate with business partners and technology manufacturers to drive Sales opportunity;
- Develop and lead technical hands-on integration of various products for proof of concepts and demo center demonstrations;
- Prepare technical integration documentation based on roadmaps, limitations, constraints and industry best practices; the documentation must incorporate scalability, availability, security, and maintainability;
- Actively develop best practices and tools for opportunity development and requirements gathering;
- Lead weekly solution assurance meetings to review pending proposals with SME teams and internal business unit resources;
- Manage risk identification, perform gap analysis and obtain approval on associated scope of delivery services;
- Participate in a technical leadership role during weekly meetings with the Project Management Office reviewing active, assigned project and engagements to identify open items to complete, budget vs. actual hours, risks, and next steps;
- Participate in bi-weekly meetings with the engineering team to discuss recent engagements, challenges, and opportunities; incorporate improvements into the pre-sales process.
Communications
- Responsible for clear and timely communication to multiple stakeholder groups on a frequent basis;
- Requires active and effective verbal and written communication with client Executive Leadership stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interface at varying and appropriate levels of management;
- Excellent client relationship management skills;
- Ability to break down technical concepts into business terms;
- Well organized, task oriented, time management expertise, thrive in a sense-of-urgency environment, leverage best practices, and innovate thinking through any problem with a can-do attitude;
- Ability to handle multiple priorities and interruptions with minimal impact on productivity;
- Demonstrate a high level of independent judgment and initiative, self-starter;
- Strong technical knowledge of enterprise architect frameworks;
- Experience with a variety of enterprise technologies, such as cloud computing, big data, and analytics;
- Ability to work independently and as part of a cross functional business unit;
- Self-driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups. Flexibility to adjust to changing requirements, schedules and priorities. The ability to socialize ideas, make recommendations and gather team consensus to move forward;
- Must be able to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to technical and non-technical audiences at all levels in the organization; develop procedural documentation; develop and conduct effective presentations; and effectively demonstrate products and solutions.
Education / Experience
- 5+ years of experience in enterprise architecture;
- Bachelor’s degree in a business or IT-related field;
- Strong technology consulting skills is preferred. Understand and translate customer business requirements into technical solutions;
- Knowledge of software or hardware design, selection and deployment techniques and methodologies;
- Practical Knowledge of the application of architecture design methodologies and frameworks;
- Knowledge of infrastructure platforms, data management, networking technologies and security frameworks and tools.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field;
- Experience with specific enterprise architecture tools and methodologies;
- Certifications in enterprise architecture, such as TOGAF or ArchiMate.
