Description

Pharmacists Mutual Insurance has an opening for a Premium Auditor. This position assists the Finance team through compiling, examining, and analyzing member information, specifically payroll, job duties, and tax documents to ensure proper classification on Workers Compensation policies. This position communicates with our members to obtain information and gain an understanding of the risk while creating relationships. Using state regulations and guidelines, final policy premium is calculated using the records gathered.

Premium Auditor I  

  • Performs audits on less complex accounts with assistance from mentors.
  • Exhibits effective workload management skills through efficient time utilization.
  • Develops successful relationships with members, agents, and other internal staff by utilizing excellent communication skills and clear documentation.
  • Performs other premium audit related duties as needed.

Premium Auditor II

  • Demonstrates a history of high-quality work and strong knowledge base about process and policies. 
  • Recognizes and provides possible solutions to issues that may arise.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and resolve disputes on audits.
  • Coordinates assignment of multi-location audits for large risks.

Senior Premium Auditor

  • Provides management with analysis and resolution of multifaceted matters.
  • Manages special projects and assignments, contributing to ongoing improvements for the business and further enhancements to the overall member experience.
  • Serves as lead trainer and mentor for level I and II auditors.
  • Manages and problem solves the most difficult accounts.
  • Assists manager in quality review procedures, contributing to the growth and development of team members.

Essential Functions

Essential functions may include, but are not limited to the following:    

  • Compiles and conducts audit of selected Commercial Lines adjustable policies by reviewing the member’s business operations, including examining, verifying and recording pertinent classification-related data from financial/business records.
  • Communicates with the member to obtain information regarding the member's operations and business model to obtain a good working knowledge and analysis of the risk.
  • Determines and develops premium basis and classification information staying within insurance manual guidelines.
  • Recognizes and communicates regular and irregular audit findings and financial conditions of an insured to the agent and underwriting.
  • Analyzes and reviews claims to verify employment, proper classification coding and proper allocation of payroll.
  • Reports changes in policy information, financial condition, operations or any fact that may affect the insurability of the policyholder.
  • Stays up-to-date on manual rules, state regulations, and company standards and procedures.
  • Ensures data quality and accuracy, timely data entry, and policy processing.
  • Understands computer operations and is capable of navigating multiple applications simultaneously and accurately.
  • Provides timely and quality customer service.
  • Documents all transactions according to Company guidelines.
  • Supports the insurance operations through processing of incoming documentation.

Qualifications

Experience and Education Qualifications

Premium Auditor I

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 3 years of related experience; or
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent and 1 year of related experience

Premium Auditor II

  • High School diploma or equivalent and 5 years of related experience; or
  • Associate’s Degree or equivalent and 3 years of related experience; or
  • Bachelor's Degree

Senior Premium Auditor

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and 7 years of related experience; or
  • Associate’s Degree and 5 years of related experience; or
  • Bachelor's Degree and 3 years of related experience; or
  • Master's Degree

Preferred Qualifications

All Levels

  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Finance or Accounting

Work Environment

  • Primary work environment is in a climate-controlled office setting
  • Work may involve travel to attend meetings at other locations and driving to and from the post office
