Director, Information Technology (Hybrid)

Full time, Sydney, Australia

The IT Director leads BCD Travel's technology roadmap and initiatives, reporting to the Vice President of Information Technology, Asia Pacific. The role oversees strategies for enterprise IT systems, applications, automation, and operations. This role collaborates with divisions to enhance consistency, service quality, and productivity. The IT Director provides leadership, expertise, and creative solutions to support sales and revenue goals.

As the Director, Information Technology, you will

  • Oversee the development of Technology's strategic plan and priorities by partnering with business leaders to define business needs, assessing industry trends to identify opportunities to enhance existing and planned solutions, and developing service delivery standards to produce desired results and increase efficiency, responsiveness, and effectiveness
  • Implement new and emerging technologies through the application of effective business solutions ensuring positive ROI
  • Formulate and implement the technology and automation strategy inclusive of budgets and ongoing cost management
  • Ensure that a framework is established enabling the achievement of enterprise goals and objectives to create stakeholder value, taking into account benefits realization, risk optimization, and resource optimization
  • Ability to establish global practices, processes, tools, and technology to create efficiencies and ensure consistent assumption and quality and cost-effective delivery of service offerings
  • Serve as Technology Stakeholder and Chairperson on Framework Committees
  • Provide communication and education for a shared understanding of the business strategy and drivers, decision-making processes, and architectural and technology review and escalation processes
  • Develop multiyear Technology Roadmap map to mid/long term business plans
  • Demonstrate business value through the use of technology
  • Contribute to the development of the company's Strategic Vision and Goals
  • Assist with financial management, team management, talent management, and technology management
  • Support IT security, ensuring an IT risk management framework exists to identify, analyze, mitigate, manage, monitor, and communicate IT-related business risk

About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Information Technology
  • Extensive experience (10+ years) in technology and business travel is mandatory, specifically within the travel management industry.
  • Proven multi-national knowledge of business travel management, supplier landscape, and travel technologies
  • Experience in prioritizing and handling multiple demands, initiatives, problems, and opportunities
  • Prior leadership experience in managing cross-functional and cross-cultural teams, with teams meeting and exceeding goals
  • Excellent communication skills, oral, written and presentation
