Job description

This is a remote position.

An Optimise payment performance, automate financial operations, and craft extraordinary customer experiences company is looking for a Business Development Manager. Their brand offers flexible payment infrastructure built with merchants, for merchants. Their modular platform enables businesses to abstract technical complexity, and transform payments from a cost centre to a revenue enabler.

Position Overview:

As a Business Development Manager (BDM), you will be at the forefront of our growth strategy, responsible for building and nurturing a pipeline of qualified leads through targeted outbound activities, including emails, phone calls, and other outreach methods. Your role involves deeply understanding customer needs, requirements, and motivations to drive business expansion and provide valuable feedback to our product development team.

 Your daily adventures include:

 Build a pipeline of qualified leads through emails, phone calls, and other outbound techniques

  • Gathering information about customer needs, really understanding their requirements and motivations to both grow business and feedback into our product development team
  • Cultivating key client relationships that drive revenue and strengthen the brand
  • Execute against targets identified by the leadership team to support company-wide growth ambitions
  • Utilise our CRM to record activity, follow up on, and advance previous conversations
  • Negotiate commercial deals and identify future opportunities for cross- and up-sell
  • Develop a broad understanding of the payments industry while keeping abreast of new trends and developments
  • Building partnerships and engaging in industry events to drive lead generation
  • Maintain pulse of key markets / sectors to continually identify new potential clients to collaborate with, and creating engaging content to win potential customers


Requirements
  • 3+ years B2B sales experience (ideally enterprise and mid corporate clients)
  • Experience in selling SaaS.
  • Proven ability to generate and close leads with mid corp and enterprise clients
  • Comfortable learning about an emerging technology in payments and payment orchestration
  • Strong negotiation and presentation skills
  • Strong and natural communicator at all levels and across channels (including written). Able to build relationships and rapport with senior clients
  • Proactive, self-starter with a demonstrated ability to prioritise, self-start, meet deadlines, and contribute under pressure.
  • Expert in building and maintaining strategic relationships
  • Not afraid of hard work, but instead excited about the opportunity to grow professionally at a rapidly growing scale-up
  • Familiarity with APIs and payments is a major plus
