About this role:

Gartner analysts are industry thought leaders who create must-have research and provide advice to world-leading organizations. The Senior Director Analyst provides research and advisory to senior Infrastructure and IT Operations leaders globally.  He/she possesses a keen eye for identifying gaps, problems, and solutions, and helps clients make better decisions relative to their highest business priorities.

What you will do:

  • As a Senior Director in the Infrastructure & Operations Leadership practice, you will apply broad knowledge of current and emerging leadership trends gained firsthand as a head of IT Infrastructure and/or IT Operations.
  • You will formulate and articulate technology and business adoption scenarios that help senior leaders embrace opportunities, risk and approaches for modernizing infrastructure, systems and processes.
  • Help senior leaders deal with challenging political dynamics of key stakeholders to influence and achieve successful outcomes. 
  • Collaborate in cross-team settings with infrastructure colleagues as well as software engineering, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity and CIO strategy analysts.
  • Demonstrate superior analytical skills, applying conceptual models, recognizing patterns while drawing and defending conclusions.

What you will need: 

  • 12+ years of relevant field or industry experience
  • Recent experience as the senior most Infrastructure and/or IT Operations leader in a mid or large sized organization is required.
  • Significant experience with people leadership topics such as designing future-fit organization structures, skills and talent management and driving culture change via transformational initiatives is required.
  • Practical experience leading investments in cloud computing, delivering platforms and services to enable digital transformation while connecting Infrastructure and IT Operations work to business outcomes and overcoming technical debt.
  • Bachelor's degree OR equivalent experience; Graduate degree preferred.
  • Proficient in analyzing and synthesizing data; can effectively apply patterns and frameworks while drawing and defending conclusions to client challenges.
  • Experience with a wide range of environments from traditional to more leading-edge across a variety of industries and geographies is preferred.
  • Ability to work independently, while also being intrinsically motivated to collaborate across teams and support the workflow of others, in a multicultural global team.
  • Demonstrate excellence in research and writing ability.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 25% (where applicable)
