HN250 - Family Assistant - Greenwich Village, NYC

Overview:

A kind family in Greenwich Village, NYC is seeking a wonderful part-time family assistant of sorts; it's a fluid role in which a little bit of everything can be done. Their proposed schedule is Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday 2pm-7pm for 15 hours per week. The family wants to hire a candidate for 4-5 months with the possibility of extending a long-term offer if both parties desire this at the end of the 4-5 months. There are two children in the home aged 5-years-old (in school) and 10-months-old. The Mother does some freelance work from home, but is overall a stay-at-home Mom. The candidate for this role will work side-by-side with the Mother to ensure a smooth running of the household. The role ideally starts September 3, 2024.

Responsibilities:

• Tidy up the 1,200 sq. ft. apartment
• Keep the kitchen cleaned up
• Assist with any errands or household tasks as the need arises
• Light housekeeping (they have a cleaner who deep-cleans the apartment weekly)
• Assist with childcare as the need arises (extra set of hands for the Mother)
• Cook dinner; very simple meals and sometimes it will just be meal prep. For example: grilled salmon or grilled chicken for dinner, potatoes, vegetables, chopping and prepping, putting a sandwich together, etc. Not gourmet cooking, but cooking knowledge and skills are necessary for this role. There are no allergies or dietary restrictions.
