Job description

We’re seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our growing Global Procurement & Strategic Sourcing team. This newly created position, reporting to the Director of CMC Procurement, will have the opportunity to deliver significant value and support not only our RNA programs, but our gene therapy portfolio programs, as well as ELEVIDYS, which is the first approved DMD gene therapy program.

The Global Procurement & Strategic Sourcing function is a newly formed and growing function at Sarepta, that focuses on delivering value by building efficiency and bringing standardization to business processes for the identification, engagement and performance of our strategic suppliers and service providers.

The Associate Director, CMC Procurement builds, operationalizes, and executes strategic sourcing strategies for CDMO/CMO and Testing Labs to support our rapidly growing TechOps organization. This role also integrates supplier selection, negotiation and contracting, and supplier relationship management with consolidation of spend in partnership across TechOps including but not limited to TechOps Supply Strategy & Planning, Quality Assurance, Quality Control, RNA Drug Substance, Gene Therapy Process Development, and Global Supply Chain. The role interface closely with business partners to understand business priorities and needs, and in turn, define specific initiatives to support Sarepta TechOps business priorities and growth.

Primary Responsibilities Include:

Business Partnering

  • Collaborates and builds productive relationships with TechOps business partners and stakeholders while developing relationships with external key suppliers/ CDMO/CMO to identify opportunities to gain efficiencies, drive cost savings, proactively respond to business needs, and reduce risk while fulfilling business requirements.
  • Partnering with stakeholders to align prioritization and lead execution.

Category Management

  • Support the development category and sourcing strategies for GMP materials, Non-GMP consumables, Capex, CDMO/CMO, and QC GMP testing.
  • Lead category strategy implementation as well as value creation initiatives in support of TechOps priorities and deliver cost savings.
  • Proactively support the RNA and Gene Therapy process development and Commercial products, identify potential CDMO/CMO for new programs.
  • Supports the TechOps business team with identification of all applicable risks as part of the Sourcing process, including coordination with the TechOps business stakeholder to properly assess and develop mitigation plans, where necessary.
  • Ensures accurate reporting of Procurement key performance measures (operational metrics, savings, quality, customer service, etc.) for the category and tracks ROI.

RFx and Negotiation

  • Leads supplier identification / selection and negotiations of MSA/SOW/RFPs with key suppliers for TechOps projects and drives the team towards a timely decision with all risks identified.
  • Implementing RFx activities.
  • Preparing and implementing advanced negotiation strategies. Manages complex negotiations on price and terms, partnering with stakeholders and Legal to negotiate and finalize agreements.

SRM

  • Manages the Supplier Performance/Relationship Management process and ensures performance and accountability are tracked and improved.
  • Maximizing values from our supplier relationships.

Desired Education and Skills: 

  • 7-10 years of demonstrated relevant Sourcing & Procurement experience in Raw material/QC GMP Testing/Supply Chain/CMC sourcing and other areas of global TechOps or CMC outsourcing is preferred.
  • Demonstrated understanding of GMP requirements.
  • Experience working with stakeholders/partners at all levels, across the organization.
  • In-depth strategic and operational procurement experience with knowledge of category management.
  • Outstanding communication.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong business acumen and financial analysis capabilities; ability to develop solid business cases to demonstrate the value proposition to move forward with project investment.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Applications; Word, Excel, Powerpoint, and Outlook.

This position is hybrid, you will be expected to work on site at one of Sarepta’s facilities in the United States and/or attend Company-sponsored in-person events from time to time.

The targeted salary range for this position is $156,000 - $195,000 per year. Sarepta is making a good faith effort to be transparent and accurate around our hiring ranges. The salary offer is commensurate with Sarepta’s compensation philosophy and considers factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, external market conditions, criticality of role, and internal equity.

Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
