Corporate Director of Sanitation

Job Summary :

The Corporate Director of Sanitation is responsible for overseeing and implementing sanitation protocols across all facilities within the company. This role ensures compliance with regulatory standards, develops sanitation procedures, manages sanitation staff, and collaborates with other functions to maintain the highest standards for sanitation across the enterprise.

Job Duties :

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Develop and implement sanitation policies, procedures, and protocols to meet regulatory requirements and industry standards as enterprise wide standards.
  • Conduct regular inspections of facilities to assess sanitation practices and identify areas for improvement.
  • Manage and train sanitation staff, including scheduling, performance evaluations, and ongoing training programs.
  • Collaborate with production, quality assurance, and maintenance departments to coordinate sanitation efforts and minimize disruptions to production schedules.
  • Monitor sanitation-related documentation, including sanitation logs, reports, and corrective action records.
  • Serve as enterprise expert internally and with external partners.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to sanitation and food safety.
  • Lead/Facilitate investigations into sanitation-related incidents or issues, implementing corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Develop and manage sanitation budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and audits.

Knowledge of:

  • Sanitation principles, practices, and regulations, including FDA, USDA, and GMP requirements.

Skill In:

  • Leadership and management with the ability to motivate and develop a diverse team
  • In-depth knowledge of Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Ability to:

  • Collaborate effectively across departments and levels of the organization with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Travel to various company locations as needed.

Proficiency in:

  • MS Office Suite and sanitation-related software applications.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Environmental Health, or related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in sanitation management within the food industry, preferably in a corporate or multi-site environment.
  • PCQI certification preferred.
