Job description

This is a remote position.

Role purpose:

The Data Officer will be responsible for managing and analyzing data to support the organization’s objectives. This includes ensuring data quality, developing data collection tools, and providing insights through data analysis.

- Reports to: Head of Data Department

Duties and Responsibilities

The Data Officer will be responsible for managing and analyzing data to support the organization’s objectives. This includes:

Collecting, cleaning, and maintaining datasets.

Ensuring data integrity and security.

Developing and implementing data management protocols.

Analyzing data to identify trends and insights.

Preparing reports and visualizations to communicate findings.

Supporting decision-making processes with data-driven insights.

Providing technical support for data-related issues.

Maintaining and updating data systems and software.

Working closely with other departments to understand data needs.

Collaborating with external partners on data projects.

Participating in meetings to provide data-related input.

Requirements

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.

Advanced degree preferred.

Experience:

Minimum of [2] years of experience in data management and analysis.

Proficiency in data collection tools (e.g., BlueData, KoBo Toolbox, Survey CTO, QGIS)

Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI).

Basic understanding of statistics (e.g., Central Tendency, Descreptive Statisdcis)

Experience in data manipulation and analysis using programming languages such as Python and R is a plus.

Robust data analysis skills using Excel Pivot table

Familiarity in data analysis tools (e.g., SQL, Python, R and SPSS)

Skills:

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
