Job description

We are hiring our first sales evangelist. We're looking for a results-driven Sales leader with excellent interpersonal skills and 1-3+ years of experience to actively formulate a company-wide sales strategy for Customer Acquisition, Revenue boosting, and growth. The role is a fantastic opportunity for a sales builder. You'll get to work with the CEO to define and establish the processes - everything from clarifying the ideal customer profile (by running experiments), crafting outbound sales emails, building the sequences in sales software, and writing scripts to close happy customers. Requirements
  • Familiarity and understanding of AI/ML/BI, Advanced Analytics and Cloud Computing trends and industry 
  • Experience selling SaaS directly to enterprise customers in Education Sector 
  • Develop and implement strategies to generate qualified leads and drive revenue growth. 
  • Solution Positioning - Clearly articulate the value proposition of our SaaS-based AI/ML/BI platform. Showcase how the platform addresses specific challenges in analytics within Manufacturing, Distribution, Healthcare, Education, and Retail.  
  • Enterprise Prospecting - Utilize your existing network and contacts within the specified verticals to identify and engage enterprise-level clients. Develop and implement targeted prospecting strategies, emphasizing the benefits of the SaaS product. Proven success in enterprise-level B2B sales, experience in Analytics SaaS (AI/BI/ML Products), and demonstrated track record of exceeding revenue targets. Have a previous track record of stellar success as a 'hunter' and 'closer.' Experience selling B2B deals with ACV upwards of $30k. 
  • Consultative Selling - Conduct needs assessments to understand customers' unique requirements in the specified industries. Demonstrate how our platform delivers tangible improvements in performance and efficiency. The ability to listen and empathize with the customer and interact to align solutions with overall business strategy for customers across different roles, from C-level leaders to technical managers 
  • Technical Expertise - Collaborate with the technical team to provide in-depth knowledge and insights during client interactions. Address technical queries and ensure a seamless understanding of the platform's capabilities. Technical understanding of AI/ML/BI platforms and the ability to communicate their benefits effectively is a plus. 
  • Relationship Management - Delighting our customers is our number one goal. Establish, develop, and maintain positive business and customer relationships. Foster robust, high-level customer relationships and expand networks through proactive outreach and prospecting initiatives. 
  • Autonomous Sales Skills - Take ownership of the entire sales cycle, from prospecting to deal closure. Develop a comprehensive data-driven sales strategy, go-to-market strategy, pricing strategy, and define sales goals. Collaborate with the executive team to develop and implement product development, customer acquisition, and revenue growth strategies. You have experience in using sales tools, including creating workflows and processes (we use Zoho). 
  • Define and constantly refine the ICP - Prospect and qualify new sales leads through various channels to obtain new customers and negotiate contracts with them. Build relevant near- and long-term pipelines. Network with and promote our products and services to potential clients 
  • Write scripts for the sales call and follow up by developing and implementing sales strategies to win new customers. Contribute to the firm's GTM strategy, working alongside our marketing team. Understand the intricacies of how the products work, critical points of difference, and how they are positioned vs competitors to develop messaging and strategies that connect with the targeted market. Design and run social media campaigns and events to get more leads. Creating personalized outbound and inbound emails. Managing the outbound Email/LinkedIn campaigns and conducting prospecting activity (phone calls, emails to middle and senior-level prospects 
  • Collaborate with marketing and other departments to optimize lead-generation campaigns and initiatives. 
  • Deliver sales presentations and product demonstrations. (Ability to create and deliver presentations tailored to the audience's needs)  
  • Excellent communication skills in English - written and spoken. Strong presentation, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence senior executives 

Who You Are: 

  • Proven track record of meeting and exceeding performance objectives (hiring targets, pipeline targets, revenue targets, etc.), selling Analytics (ML and BI Software) 
  • Proven success in enterprise-level B2B sales and preference given to experience in AI/ML/BI and Advanced Analytics Software sales 
  • Experience engaging with C-level decision-makers and serving as a thought partner and leader to help accelerate the lead conversion rate. 
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a history of exceeding enterprise sales targets. 
  • Superlative written and verbal communication and presentation skills 
  • You have demonstrated the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team. You are a self-starter with a passion for taking ownership of your work. 
  • Strong negotiation skills 
  • Reliable, Independent, and able to wear multiple hats - Every fast-growing startup always looks messier from the inside, with more problems than people to solve. The role requires you to be scrappy, roll up your sleeves to get to know the product, and create a world-class experience for our customers and prospects. 
  • You're comfortable with different sales motions (SMB vs Enterprise, velocity vs high ACV). You're willing to experiment to find what works for us and double down there 

Nice to have: 

  • Experience selling analytics SAAS products – BI and AI 
  • Ideally, expertise selling in at least two sectors with deep ties and Rolodex 
  • A deep curiosity for the analytics domain, the product, and our customers 
  • A sense of urgency to grow the company 
  • Focus on finding customers that love the product and won't churn out (SaaS business depends on revenue retention and expansion)
