About This Position

Our Market Risk team is hiring a Manager, Systems and Reporting support the ongoing improvement and development of Market Risk’s key systems: 

 -Hartigen’s PowerOptix
 -Market Risk’s Power BI workspace
-Market Risk’s Google Cloud Platform project space, and
 -The ICE platform and tools

The Manager, Systems and Reporting is responsible for the strategic and tactical implementation of Market Risk’s systems. Acting as the primary point of contact for both vendors and internal customers, the Manager will provide a clear roadmap and support for these critical systems. This role requires collaboration across Finance and Origination & Trading to anticipate and meet business needs, ensuring Market Risk systems align with those requirements. This role reports to the Vice President, Market Risk.

Responsibilities & Duties
  • Serve as the principal internal point of contact for all matters related to Hartigen’s PowerOptix, Google Cloud Platform, and Market Risk’s Power BI workspace.
  • Build and maintain middleware to support ongoing integrations of Market Risk’s systems, adhering to change management policies and internal controls.
  • Scale applications to align with new assets, products, and processes.
  • Collaborate with Origination & Trading, Finance, and IT to ensure systems comply with applicable standards (SOX, internal controls) and support internal/external audits.
  • Act as the ICE Administrator, managing ICE user accounts, billing, and vendor cost control.
  • Support the setup and training for users related to the ICE platform.
  • Develop and execute Market Risk’s system roadmaps.
  • Proactively identify improvements in Market Risk’s systems, processes, and tools.
  • Manage a small team of data/software engineers supporting Market Risk’s systems.

  • Qualifications & Skills
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Analysis, or a related quantitative field with demonstrated relevant experience.
  • Superior front-end and back-end Python programming skills. 
  • Practical understanding of VaR, MVaR, and Expected Shortfall/CVaR.
  • 5+ years of experience working within ETRM/TCS, with preference for PowerOptix experience.
  • Expert knowledge of Google Cloud Platform.
  • Experience working with risk teams.
  • Commercially-minded with an understanding of business and revenue generation.
  • Solid understanding of U.S. power and gas markets.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • 1-2 years of experience managing a team.

  • Salary: USD$150,000 or CAD$203,000 base salary with 45% annual target bonus
