About Norstella
At Norstella, our mission is simple: to help our clients bring life-saving therapies to market quicker—and help patients in need.
Founded in 2022, but with history going back to 1939, Norstella unites best-in-class brands to help clients navigate the complexities at each step of the drug development life cycle —and get the right treatments to the right patients at the right time.
Each organization (Citeline, Evaluate, MMIT, Panalgo, The Dedham Group) delivers must-have answers for critical strategic and commercial decision-making. Together, via our market-leading brands, we help our clients:
·      Citeline – accelerate the drug development cycle
·      Evaluate – bring the right drugs to market
·      MMIT – identify barrier to patient access
·      Panalgo – turn data into insight faster
·      The Dedham Group – think strategically for specialty therapeutics
By combining the efforts of each organization under Norstella, we can offer an even wider breadth of expertise, cutting-edge data solutions and expert advisory services alongside advanced technologies such as real-world data, machine learning and predictive analytics.
As one of the largest global pharma intelligence solution providers, Norstella has a footprint across the globe with teams of experts delivering world class solutions in the USA, UK, The Netherlands, Japan, China and India.

Job Description
Have you wondered how lifesaving drugs and therapies are created, tested, marketed, and made available to patients in need? Have you wondered how clinical trials are conducted at a global scale? How governments and health authorities regulate various organizations participating in this marketplace? Have you wondered how those companies and insurance providers price a certain drug, and how a care provider determines the right treatment for a given patient?

Reporting into Senior Director of Agile Excellence, the scrum master will manage delivery teams, Scrum or otherwise, taking ownership of the delivery of specific Agile projects.
You’ll take an Agile approach to deliver artefacts in line with agreed designs, meet the business/customer requirements and be in accordance with defined quality, coding standards and architectural principles.
You’ll ensure that implementations are in line with enterprise architecture principles and agreed design, thereby delivering quality code into test and production environments.

This role is a crossover one, with elements of a Delivery Manager and a Scrum master. It therefore has essential attributes from both.

We are looking for an experienced delivery manager with great communication skills, deep experience in Agile, and most importantly, the ability and willingness to keep learning in this ever-changing technology landscape.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
Delivery
  • Support/run scrum of scrums, when required.
  • Support the day to day running of the Agile delivery teams, helping them to meet their commitment to their sprint goal when required.
  • Facilitate Scrum ceremonies, when required, with a focus on collaboration and empowering people, as opposed to just doing administrative tasks around the ceremonies and JIRA.
  • Plan, direct, coordinated, and monitored activities of delivery teams involved in analysis, design, and development.
  • Ensure consistent reporting and review of data/metrics being supplied.
  • Ensure learnings from each sprint are applied across all squads.
  • Ensure Product Engineering delivers high-quality solutions across all squads.
  • Propose and roll out processes to enable the Product Engineering teams to deliver efficiently and effectively.
  •
Working Together

  • Shield the team from distractions. Remove impediments. Follow through with retrospective actions. Continuously review progress against the benchmarks (Agile health reports)
  • Ensure blockers are owned and removed so the teams can continue working with minimal delay.
  • Serve the team in whatever capacity is required to allow the team to deliver against the Project Goal and help the team in optimizing how they work to complete the stories targeted to a Sprint effectively.
  • Apply the appropriate level of Agile governance to the delivery process, covering communication, reporting, and metrics.
  • Ensure relevant Agile governance is applied across all squads.
  • Coach and mentor Scrum masters and Product Engineering technology teams on Agile practices

Mandatory Skills:
• Clear understanding of continuous software delivery lifecycle
• Good understanding of Agile software development techniques (such as TDD, BDD, CI)
• Experience with the Atlassian toolset, in particular, Jira and Confluence
• Advanced JIRA knowledge (workflows, schemes, fields, etc.)
• Experience with Agile development and delivery – Scrum, Lean, XP, Kanban methodologies
• A thorough understanding of software development practices is desirable but not essential
• Being a Certified Scrum Master is desirable but not essential
• Experience within the pharma/healthcare sector is a plus
• Able to manage the impact and risk of decisions
• Proactive and passionate about learning new things and improving existing challenges
• Ability to encourage efficient and effective communication and continuous improvement
• Effective stakeholder management. Ability to influence others to achieve a common goal.
