Location: India, Remote (Work from Anywhere in India)
Minimum Qualification B. Tech. (or equivalent) from an accredited institution
Indicative Experience: 5+ years

Core Skills:
We are looking for a Knowledge Engineer to join our Ontology Management team. We grow our coverage with huge reserves of pharmaceutical and healthcare data to accelerate clinical research and improve patient outcomes. Since we want to ensure our data works for our clients as well as possible, we work to make sure it is structured to allow flexible use – and now we want to grow this capability. As a Knowledge Engineer, you will be part of a new team with a growing influence in the organization, and key responsibilities will include:
 
  • Designing and leading the development and QC of knowledge structures for key components of our life sciences data
  • Incorporating new knowledge structures into our ontologies so that our products (and, ultimately, our clients) can utilize them
  • Developing data standards for new areas as structures and data mapping processes are implemented
  • Leading and delivering data discovery exercises
  • Being responsible for the maintenance of evolving knowledge structures and associated data standards
  • Coaching data analysts and contractors on data mapping and discovery projects
 
We will also be looking for you to:
  • Collaborate with product teams on new product development
  • Collaborate with Data Scientists and Data Engineers on implementation and research projects 
  • Collaborate with Content Leads to establish data standards for their domains
  • Work with clients to resolve data challenges and promote incorporation of our data into their systems
  • Act as an internal champion for data standards
 
Key skills/qualifications/experience we are looking for are:
  • Degree in health sciences, health information systems, computer science, mathematics, or a related field
  • 5+ years’ (practical) experience designing and developing taxonomies/ontologies – either coding them or via an interface – preferably in life sciences
  • 2+ years’ experience developing and maintaining knowledge graphs

  • 2+ years’ experience manipulating life science data
  • Analytical mindset
  • Experience using ontology management tools
  • Familiarity with RDF, SPARQL
  • An understanding of dependencies on data connections
  • Project management/leadership experience
  • Interest in, and ideally some familiarity with, NLP/NLU and AI techniques
  • A desire to make healthcare data work better
 
 Good to have:
  • Proficiency in SQL
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies
