Job description

This is a remote position.

Our partner is a pioneer in the fields of life science instruments, industrial automation, and test and measurement. With over 100 years of experience in monitoring and managing industrial operations, they support businesses in realizing their full potential by offering creative solutions.


As a System/Network Engineer, you will support infrastructure projects by ensuring they stay on schedule, meet requirements, and adhere to management guidelines. This role involves engaging with various stakeholders in your domain.

Duties:

  • Troubleshoot security and network issues.
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments using automated tools and recommend actions to address identified threats.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory and security standards relevant to network infrastructure.
  • Maintain and support security systems and tools, such as firewalls, according to maintenance contracts.
  • Perform system upgrades, patches, and backups to keep security systems up-to-date and running smoothly.
  • Provide incident response support and troubleshoot security incidents, working closely with end-users for timely resolutions.
  • Manage and maintain Cisco ISE for network access control and policy enforcement.
  • Monitor, support, and troubleshoot network bandwidth and performance to ensure uninterrupted services.
  • Coordinate with local and regional ISPs on WAN (SD-WAN) maintenance, changes, and implementation.
  • Report on network operational status, gather and prioritize information, and manage network projects.


Requirements
  • Professional certifications (e.g., CCNP, PCNSE) with significant hands-on experience in routing, switching, network security, and cybersecurity.
  • Understanding of network and security fundamentals, including protocols and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection and Microsoft E5 Security products.
  • Experience in testing and evaluating security products in a lab environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities, work independently, and perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Hands-on experience with technologies such as Cisco, Meraki, Palo Alto, Zscaler, VeloCloud, and Azure.
  • Relevant Microsoft cloud security certifications (e.g., AZ-500, MS-101, MS-500) are a plus.
  • Strong team player with a positive attitude, capable of working independently with minimal supervision and delivering on tight deadlines.
