We are currently looking for an experienced Renewable Energy Engineering Deputy/Assistant Project Manager to work with our growing team on all aspects of design and construction oversight of renewable energy projects throughout the US with a particular focus on the West Region.

Responsibilities

  • Provide deputy/assistant project management services for development and detailed engineering renewable energy projects across the United States with a focus on the West Region.
  • Support the Project Manager in the preparation of proposals.
  • Lead project teams in the planning, design and construction support of renewable energy projects.
  • Direct preparation of engineering reports, studies, conceptual designs, and permit applications.
  • Review and interpret local, state, provincial, and federal environmental regulations.
  • Communicate with clients throughout proposal and project execution.
  • Support management of all aspects of project performance (scope, schedule, budget, quality).
  • Maintain project schedule, task assignments, coordinate with project team, track budget, monitor status of invoicing, conduct regular project meetings, and track action items.

Requirements

  • B.S. in Engineering or related major from an accredited university.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in the renewable energy field.
  • Background in civil, structural, mechanical, or electrical disciplines in relation to energy projects.
  • Demonstrated project management experience.
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook) and engineering discipline specific software.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work on several tasks concurrently.
  • Ability to work well with a diverse team including office-based and remote employees.
  • Knowledge of engineering discipline specific principles and practices, construction specifications, procedures, means and methods, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of the full life cycle of renewable energy projects form pre-feasibility to decommissioning.
  • Self-motivated and driven with an entrepreneurial spirit.
  • A pre-employment drug screen in compliance with federal regulations is required, along with a physical if needed.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record without restrictions.

Other Desirable Skills And Qualifications

  • Project management certification or specialized training.
  • Master’s degree in business, engineering, or closely aligned degree is a plus.
  • P.E. or S.E. license or ability to become licensed within two years is a plus.
  • Experience with any of the following: decommissioning and reclamation plans, cost estimating, EMF studies, renewable energy resources assessments, financial modelling, construction monitoring, condition assessment, Owner’s Engineering, and/or Independent Engineering.
  • Experience with scheduling software such as Microsoft Project, Tasks by Planner, Smartsheet, etc.
  • Experience with construction coordination platforms such as Procore, Construction Cloud, etc.

Location:

Position may be fully remote, hybrid, or office based depending on location of applicant. Office locations for this position include (but may not be limited to) Denver/Lakewood, Colorado; Bothell, Washington; Richland, Washington; Albuquerque and Los Alamos, New Mexico; Portland, Oregon; Boise, Idaho; Salt Lake City, Utah; Austin, Texas; and Irvine, California.

Compensation

Salary commensurate with experience.

Salary Range: $75,000 - $105,000 yr.

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience and demonstrated work experience in the above role; skills, certifications, and competencies that align to the specified role; geographic location; and education, as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
