We are currently seeking an experienced Lead Human Factors Engineer to join the Technip Energies team on an exciting career opportunity!
Our client has tasked us with providing experienced professionals to work on a 30 hectare reuse project off the eastern coast of Saudi Arbia in the Berri oilfield.
This is an opportunity for US or Canadian nationals and is an Expat assignment in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will need to have a passport and qualify for a Saudi work visa.

Job Summary:
Lead Human Factor Engineering – Minimum ten (10) years in design and construction with relevant work experience in industry, preferably Oil and Gas industry. Candidate must have a degree in Engineering with a minimum of 5 years’ experience in Human Factor Engineering work, HSE knowledge and NEBOSH certificate or equivalent. Good understanding of the national authorities, such as;
- Good understanding of the laws, regulations, standards; of the role, responsibilities and limitations of regulatory bodies.
- Capability to promote team-working and collaboration among the different functions both internally with engineering, inspection, construction, commissioning and externally with third parties, clients, sub-contractors and suppliers.
- Open minded and pragmatic, with good communication skills.
- Fluent in English, French if possible
- Preferably knowledge and practice with IOGP 454 or ASTM F 1166
The duties of the human factor engineer (HFE) include the following activities:
- Establish, maintain and implement the following documents:
- HFE Plan
- HFE Awareness Training
- HFE Design Specification
- HFE Checklist for Contractors and Vendors
- HFE Register
- Ensure suitable reporting to project management and client
- Review national regulations and inform the project of potential impact in each project phase.
- Coordinate and Sensibilize HFE activities with all involved disciplines.
- Participation and Involvement in 3D Model Reviews (Progress Layout, Packages).
- Analysis Assessment Reviews (TRA, Valve criticality, Alarm system, HAZOP, HRA, Control Room, HMI…)
- Act as focal point internally and externally for the above activities
About the job:
Must have:
- 10 years minimum in the stated discipline
- Full knowledge of standards related to HFE Discipline (IOGP454,…), owns a NEBOSH International General Certificate or equivalent
- Collaborative approach, well organized
- Experience in Offshore
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Passport
Nice to have:
- Experience working on projects for Technip Energies
- Experience as PMC
- Experience in KSA or Middle-East with renowned clients.
