Endeavour Group demerged from Woolworths in 2021 and as part of the transition is taking the opportunity to transform how we operate as an independent business and establish supporting technology.

The Stores Deployment Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing the transition and implementation of the system, process and technologies that sit across our +1700 stores retail environment,  across a condensed timeline. This role is critical to ensuring a seamless transition with minimal disruption to store operations and customers.  


The role is required to support the project team and coach them on best practices, ensuring that the overall project deliverables are implemented. The Stores Deployment Manager will work closely with the business to ensure there is a pipeline of skills within the teams to lead the new capabilities and support embedding them into the business.

Here is a taster of what you can expect in this role

  • Ensure the sustainable implementation of project changes by managing people, processes, and systems across the programe.
  • Manage stakeholders through the utilisation of clear and engaging communication and influencing skills.
  • Ensure proper installation, configuration, and testing of IT infrastructure, including POS and store central systems, networking and equipment, security systems, and other store-supporting technologies through test environment, pilot and into deployment.
  • Work closely with IT and store operations teams to troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise during deployment.
  • Implement and oversee data migration processes to ensure a smooth transition with minimal disruption to store operations.
  • Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables; develop detailed work plans, including schedules, project estimates, resource plans, and status reports.
  • Manage specific project(s) within the program to ensure compliance with scope, schedule, budget, and quality requirements. This involves overseeing dependencies, risks, issues, decisions, constraints, and assumptions.
  • Track project milestones and deliverables, providing regular status reports to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Manage the scoping of requirements, business cases (cost and benefits), delivery of outcomes, and securing external support where required.
  • Communicate project expectations to team members and stakeholders in a timely and clear fashion. Liaise with project stakeholders on an ongoing basis.
  • Accountable for monitoring and controlling project expenses, such as current spending and anticipated future costs, and delivering business benefits as outlined in the business case
  • Effectively manage actions, issues, and dependencies (including cross-project)
  • Oversee the handling of project escalations and related issues by engaging with the appropriate stakeholders and utilising Governance forums.

  • 5+ Years of Project management experience
  • Experience with retail IT transitions involving multiple locations
  • Demonstrated experience with large-scale IT transformation programs.
  • Responsible for delivering successful and sustainable execution of business projects.
  • Skilled in problem-solving, analytical thinking, and guiding others in resolving complex issues.
  • Proficient in project management methodologies and tools.
  • Proficient with tools such as JIRA, Trello, Confluence, or other PM tools.
  • Possesses strong influencing skills.
  • Agile/Scrum experience.
  • Certification in Project Management (like PMP or PRINCE2) is highly preferred.
  • Sound business acumen and horizontal collaboration capabilities.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field.
