Position Summary

The Community Wellness Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, planning, implementing, and evaluating programs related to promoting nutrition literacy, active living, food justice, individual and community wellness, and other education programs to address social determinants of health. The Coordinator works with youth and adults in the community, local school districts, community partners, and external organizations to coordinate health promotion and wellness events and programs. Work situations are varied and require strong organizational skills, communication and computer skills, database management, independent and critical thinking, creativity, and discretion.

Depending on assignment, the incumbent may be required to perform community educational activities on occasional nights and weekends.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Health Education/Promotion or related field and two (2) years of experience in community outreach, program planning and evaluation
  • OR five (5) years experience in health education and/or public health or community outreach; experience with nutrition, physical activity, food justice, prevention programming, planning and evaluation or related experience
  • Experience in community outreach, working with youth and prevention

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $62,005.00 - $89,211.00 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
