Job description

Manager, Center for Climate Futures
100% Remote within California, Must reside in California

We are seeking a Manager to join FoundationCCC in its mission of benefitting, supporting, and enhancing the California Community Colleges—the largest and most diverse system of higher education in the nation. Together, we are building stronger communities by getting students and colleges the resources they need to succeed and expanding pathways to economic and social mobility across California. Join us as we continue this important work to uphold the value of community colleges in building a brighter future.

What You’ll Do

The Foundation is the official auxiliary non-profit of the colleges, serving as their innovation arm and helping shape climate-related work at the state, district and campus levels.  The Center for Climate Futures (CCF) at the Foundation for California Community Colleges helps the 116 colleges in the statewide network take advantage of their unique capacities to shape the state’s climate response.

Using government and philanthropic funding streams, CCF designs and implements projects which contribute to the following:

  • Assisting communities in strengthening their climate resilience

The Manager will help develop existing lines of work in the climate portfolio and expand the areas of focus to promising new fields, with a focus on clean transportation, community benefit plans, and engagement with tribal communities and nations. The Manager will raise the profile of community colleges and their essential roles in climate action at the state and national levels. The Manager will contribute to securing new funding streams, building and managing the climate team, launching new initiatives, and carrying out climate-related projects at the CCF.
