This position is part of Novanta’s ATI Industrial Automation business unit. ATI is the world’s leading developer of robotic end of arm technologies. Summary

As Senior Director, Strategic Business Development, you'll play a key role in the development and implementation of comprehensive strategies to increase revenue streams through new business development, marketing initiatives, and strategic partnerships for our European market. This role will also   formulate and execute inorganic initiatives through target identification and prioritization, relationship cultivation across both financial sponsors and targets, deal execution and post-close integration.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Developing and executing strategic plans to drive profitable business growth in critical new markets and applications.
  • Identifying and prospecting new business opportunities, negotiating, and closing new business deals to increase market penetration.
  • Staying ahead of market trends to identify new business opportunities in target markets and applications.
  • Thinking creatively about markets and adjacencies in which ATI plays and recommend attractive business areas where it can acquire, partner, and make strategic investments.
  • Building efficient, scalable, and transparent processes: create and optimize pipeline processes to enhance efficiency and scalability from prospect to product launch.
  • Monitoring, analyzing, and reporting on sales performance, market trends and competitor activities to adapt strategies accordingly.
  • Driving innovation, optimizing processes, and improving operational efficiency.
  • Establishing and managing indirect sales channel partners.

Required Experience, Education, Skills, Training and Competencies

  • University degree or the equivalent combination of education and experience required; advanced/graduate degree preferred. Typically requires 10+ years’ experience.
  • Possess deep expertise and proven track record of successful business development, technical sales, and leadership.
  • Highly skilled in identifying, developing, and closing new opportunities with market-leading customers in a business-to-business environment.
  • Be skilled in managing complex strategic initiatives and developing innovative solutions to complex problems.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels to achieve results.
  • Possess high business acumen and the ability to effectively advise senior management on specific investment opportunities based on thorough analysis and evaluation in the context of ATI’s strategic priorities.
