About the role

As a Cloud Engineer you will collect and analyze business requirements from our internal teams, design, deploy and monitor all necessary cloud hosted components needed for our  solutions.

We are a cloud-first company with a strong focus on modern technologies.The main objective will be to deliver cloud-native solutions, boost operational efficiency, and optimise processes. Our Cloud Engineering team leverages expertise in cloud platforms to design secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.

Indicatively, the responsibilities will include:

  • Maintain and optimize functionality of the delivered software solutions
  • Setup and maintain our Cloud architecture and drive technology decisions
  • Setup and optimize the CI/CD pipelines as part of the Software Development Lifecycle
  • Ensure optimal operation of our Cloud infrastructure hosting all our cloud-native applications and their respective environments (non-production, production)
  • Have an active role in designing and maintaining our Observability platform

Requirements

We have seen that people who successfully fit in this position have:

  • BSc or MSc degree majoring in Computer Science, Network Engineering or Electrical Engineering
  • 4+ years of professional experience as a DevOps, Site Reliability , or Cloud Engineer
  • 2 years  experience with Infrastructure as Code tools, such as Terraform, Pulumi, or CloudFormation
  • Understanding of programming concepts such as structured code, object-oriented and multi-tiered development experience, and design patterns
  • Fact-driven mindset with experience on modern observability methodologies (distributed tracing, telemetry and logging)
  • Proven expertise with at least one public Cloud hosting platform (ex: AWS, GCP, Azure),  using its managed services for production grade use of highly scalable solutions.
  • Proven expertise on managing and troubleshooting Kubernetes clusters under production workloads, stateful and stateless (EKS, GKE, AKS)
  • Excellent ability to problem-solve, debug, and understand pertinent performance metrics
  • Extended knowledge in designing, building, and working with Continuous Integration and Delivery (CI/CD) Pipelines (Gitlab CI, Github Actions)
  • A secure-by-design approach with respect to compliance frameworks such as ISO27001 and SOC-2
  • Great attention to detail while staying within budget and delivering on time
  • Good understanding of how cloud costs can be monitored and optimized

It's great, but not required if you are:

  • Comfortable with Agile methodologies
  • Holding advanced certifications related to AWS and/or the Kubernetes ecosystem
