Position Overview:

This position is eligible to work from home within the Sutter Health Northern California footprint and onsite in Sacramento.

Implements data governance solutions ensuring high quality data exists throughout the entire data lifecycle. Supports data protection efforts throughout Sutter Health and its regional affiliates through: data collection, data policy, data sovereignty, data retention, and data lifecycle management. Sets the team's priorities, timelines, and deliverables as well as provides strategic oversight in the design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance of data protection and data governance solutions. Defines policies associated with data protection and data governance with key stakeholders throughout Sutter Health and its regional affiliates in order to implement said policies and to track the effectiveness of the implementation.

The Director of Data and AI Governance leads the overall Data, Analytics, and AI governance for Sutter’s information assets. They provide strategic oversight and governance guidelines, ensuring high-quality data sources and efficient execution of data and analytics / AI strategies. This role involves collaborating with senior executives to plan and implement data, analytics, and AI governance, developing and implementing the governance strategy, and overseeing a governance team. They orchestrate the governance council and ensure compliance with governance policies in data, analytics, and AI. The Director ensures compliance with legal and ethical standards, partners with digital leaders to implement data and AI tools, and works closely with privacy, security, and risk teams. They also facilitate data literacy and training about key information assets across the organization. They have a deep industry understanding and expert practitioner experience with governance including successfully running executive-level governance councils in various organizations.

EDUCATION:
Equivalent experience will be accepted in lieu of the required degree or diploma.

Bachelor's: Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, Mathematics, or related field


TYPICAL EXPERIENCE:

12 years recent relevant experience.



SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

Advanced knowledge of healthcare trends, competitive intelligence, data analytics, and emerging technologies with the ability to integrate this knowledge into actionable strategic and long range plans.

Comprehensive knowledge of healthcare-related data management and dependencies.

Proven ability to manage and direct cross-functional projects and teams from various departments and locations within a major organization.

Verbal and writing skills to effectively communicate with diverse groups such as: executives, managers, and subject matter experts.

Set priorities which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and prioritize assignments to complete work in a timely manner.

Analyze information, problems, situations, practices, or procedures in order to identify patterns, tendencies, and relationships resulting in the formulation of logical and objective conclusions

Demonstrated ability to build and lead teams committed to carrying out initiatives in environments that may be resistant to change.

Make presentations to persuade others to accept a specific opinion or action, or to provide information and instruction.

Pay Range is $71.33 to $106.99 / hour

The salary range for this role may vary above or below the posted range as determined by location. This range has not been adjusted for any specific geographic differential applicable by area where the position may be filled. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, department equity, training and organizational needs.
