Commodity Trader

Headquartered in Geneva, Switzerland, our client is a dynamic and fully operational commodity trading company with a strong industry presence. Currently, the company is actively seeking talented commodity professionals to join its team. The work location offers flexibility, with options in HKSAR, Shanghai, China, or Singapore. Additionally, there is room for some remote work, providing a versatile and accommodating work environment.

Responsibilities

Apply finance knowledge and execute hedging strategies to mitigate risks in commodity trading activities, ensuring optimal financial outcomes.

Demonstrate a solid understanding of all aspects of physical trade, including logistics, Quality Premiums (QP), and other relevant factors.

Analyze and comprehend all details of a trading Profit and Loss (P&L) statement, assessing associated risks and implementing effective risk management strategies.

Showcase a proven track record or positive feedback from the market, highlighting successful trading ventures and effective risk mitigation.

Possess strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating an eagerness to learn, high motivation, and self-driven qualities.

Familiarity with products and related markets, particularly in metal, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of the industry landscape.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, or a related field.

4-8 years of relevant experience Native/ nearly native level of Chinese

Extensive experience in physical commodity trading; Exposure with copper, sulfur, and cobalt will be a plus

In-depth knowledge of hedging execution and strategies.

Proficient understanding of logistics, QP, Premiums, and other key aspects of physical trade.

Proven ability to analyze and manage trading P&L and associated risks.

Excellent communication and negotiation skills
