Job Description

Job Title: Video Production Intern

Reports to: Video Production Team Lead and Director of Media

MISSION STATEMENT

OUR NATIONAL CONVERSATION (ONC) seeks to reduce partisanship and promote effective solutions to America's challenges. Powered by America's youth, we host a media outlet, produce educational materials and facilitate dialogue intended to make America a better country.

Job Description: The Video Production Intern will contribute to ONC’s mission of providing nonpartisan news, opinions, and policy solutions by assisting with the production of short form and long form media, such as ONC’s “Allow Us to Explain” Youtube series, ONC hosted debates, and other forms of educational content. The video production intern is also responsible for editing together several individual Mp4s to create longer content pieces from unrelated videos and creating assets to make the content visually enjoyable. Graphic arts skills would be a plus to use for post-production. This intern must be creative and be willing to propose strategies to improve content and engagement. This position would provide relevant experience to anyone studying Film, Video & Graphic Arts or Film/Video Production.

This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication. This intern must commit to the end of the Fall semester (December 20th, 2024). However, many people choose to extend their internship past the amount of time they initially committed to, provided their performance meets the required standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Completing deliverables by the assigned due dates as marked on the content calendar.

  • Offering ideas for approval on the content calendar including, but not limited to topic ideas, editing approaches, graphic design improvements and rollout/promotion strategies.

  • Editing projects according to specific instructions and sending it to the Video Production Team Lead in a timely manner.

  • Understanding key audiences and developing targeting strategies to drive engagement in regard to ONC’s video content.

  • Effectively communicating with other ONC team members (Slack, Email, Zoom).

Compensation: This is not a paid position.

Benefits: Flexible schedule, college credit, professional networking, and resume-building experience.
