Infrastructure / Cloud Principal Consultant-Contractor/1099

Position Overview

ISG’s Infrastructure and Cloud Consulting Team supports the transformation of large and medium size enterprises’ business and IT environments by leveraging robust cloud consulting capabilities.

The Infrastructure / Cloud Principal Consultant position is viewed as a key resource to help sell and deliver these cloud solutions. The principal consultant is expected to independently manage medium sized project teams and be fully proficient in the selling and delivery of hybrid cloud strategy and transformation consulting service offerings including:

Hybrid Cloud Strategy and Transformation
Application Portfolio and Legacy Infrastructure Modernization
Cloud Negotiations and Contracting (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)
Cloud FinOps Optimization
Hybrid, Multi-Cloud Operating Models
Cloud and Infrastructure Services Sourcing

Role & Responsibilities

Our consultants utilize their experience in the above-mentioned capabilities along with ISG design methodologies to enable a client to transform their technology environment to a flexible yet cost effective and agile enterprise.

Typical engagements the Cloud Principal Consultant will lead or support:

Full scale Application and Infrastructure Transformation programs
Hybrid Cloud transformation strategy, including migration and adoption
Cloud sourcing, negotiations, and contracting with hyperscalers (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP), Global System Integrators (GSIs), and Managed Service Providers (MSPs)
Cloud FinOps / cost optimization and business case development
Market trends research and development surrounding emerging technologies
Assessment of cloud operating model, security, and FinOps
Cloud and infrastructure Governance and Center of Excellence (CCOE) design & implementation

Key Responsibilities

Lead engagement delivery teams through workshops and presentations to all organizational levels, including VP-level and C-suite
Support sales cycle for new opportunities, including developing proposals and presenting to prospective clients
Develop and sustain client relationships with enterprises and service providers, identifying opportunities and representing ISG capabilities across all practices
Support the global ISG community in development of skills, continuous improvement of delivery methods and sales collateral, and development of market and social artifacts to promote the practice and improve revenue generation

Required Skillsets

7+ Years of IT Infrastructure experience including Compute, Network, and Cybersecurity
5+ years of Cloud based delivery
Experience in Application Portfolio Analysis preferred
Consulting experience preferred
Sales and sales support preferred
Competency in the following key disciplines is desirable:
Cloud or Applications Operating Model Design, Development, and Implementation
Cloud Security experience with general cybersecurity, compliance, and risk management capabilities
Application Development Lifecycle Management techniques (SDLCs such as Kanban, SCRUM, SAFe, etc.)
DevOps practices and CI/CD automation and continuous delivery disciplines
Cloud computing and cloud-native applications development and management
Modern architectures (microservices, APIs, integration layers, etc.) at a high level
Experience in working with third party service providers
ITIL Processes
Demonstrates expert knowledge with MS-Office suite of software applications and tools, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, and MS Outlook
Strong presentation, verbal, and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex ideas in easy-to-understand business terms to all levels of client leadership including C-Suite
Industry Experience: Experience working across multiple industries
Travel 25%-60% required

Education

Bachelor of Arts or Science degree in a technical or scientific field or a business degree with relevant work experience
MBA/MS or other advanced degree(s) desirable

Certifications

AWS, Azure, Google Cloud or other relevant certifications desirable
Specialized certifications in FinOps, AI/ML, Cybersecurity desirable
