Job Description:

We are seeking a Manufacturing Engineer who will help maintain the highest output and quality of DDN Storage products while ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of current manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing and improving current methods, developing and implementing new processes, and ensuring the highest quality standards are met throughout production. He/she will work collaboratively across various departments, including engineering, production, and quality control, to continuously optimize our manufacturing footprint. This is a full-time position located onsite in Chatsworth, CA. Targeted pay $115k DOE.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Support DDN production using standard manufacturing engineering practices and technical expertise.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation, including work instructions and standard operating procedures.
  • Streamline product assembly and improve quality through the creation or procurement of custom tools, fixtures, and equipment.
  • Reduce system and component assembly times through lean manufacturing techniques.
  • Determine optimal rework methods for nonconforming products.
  • Review technical drawings and specifications to provide engineering input to production.
  • Perform failure analyses and address corrective actions for product failures.
  • Design and qualify custom packaging to ensure product safety during transportation.
  • Provide training for team members globally to ensure proper product usage and handling.
  • Communicate with and audit vendors/suppliers to address or improve products and quality.
  • Participate in and lead factory readiness reviews for new products, systems, and software releases.
  • Create and manage engineering change orders (ECOs) to introduce or improve parts, drawings, and manufacturers across all product types.

 Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering, or other applicable degree.
  • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience working in manufacturing environments with electromechanical products and assemblies.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes of production issues.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for documenting processes and collaborating with cross-functional team members.
  • Experience using CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Familiarity with PLM software environments.
  • Ability to lift objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
