Job description

This is a remote position.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure across various client locations. This role requires extensive travel and the ability to adapt to diverse environments while providing exceptional technical support and solutions.

  • Design, configure, and install network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.[JP1] 
  • Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine network and cabling requirements and provide recommendations.
  • Plan and design cable infrastructure systems that support the unique requirements of the DoD environment.
  • Conduct thorough site visits for data collection and evaluation of telecommunications and building technologies systems, ensuring project scopes are well-defined and met.
  • Maintain and manage inside plant cable infrastructure, including conduit, cable trays, copper, coax, fiber optics, and all associated elements.
  • Develop comprehensive EIPs for the installation of cable racks, wiring, and the necessary testing during installation.
  • Ensure proper power distribution and management for network devices, including UPS systems and backup power solutions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve network issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance.
  • Perform regular network maintenance, updates, and upgrades to ensure security and reliability.
  • Collaborate with clients to understand their network needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Document network configurations, changes, and maintenance activities.
  • Provide training and support to clients and internal teams on network-related matters


Requirements
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in network engineering, with a focus on installation and troubleshooting.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, hardware, and software (e.g., TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Cisco, Juniper).
  • Experience with network security practices and technologies (e.g., VPNs, firewalls, IDS/IPS).
  • Ability to travel extensively, including internationally, and adapt to varying schedules and environments.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • IAT Level II certification required (e.g. CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, SSCP)
