Job Summary:
The Process Engineering Analyst is responsible for conducting in-depth and forensic analysis of the workflow process that spans across different teams. The primary objective of this role is to identify operational issues, incorrect process paths, missing tasks, bottlenecks, and inefficiencies within the workflow and collaborate with content and technology teams to implement process improvements. The Process Engineering Analyst will perform forensic work to investigate and understand the root causes of issues, ensuring that sources (items that operations must work on for completeness of content processing) are exhaustively generated for operations teams, tasks are appropriately, and correctly distributed to the teams, and operational effectiveness is optimized. The Analyst will follow the process of collating, triaging, and prioritizing these issues, table them with the engineering teams, and ensure these are resolved. They will be the bridge between operations and tech, communicating and translating the ask across both teams based on their familiarity with the processes and practices on either side. They will work with the engineering teams to test and sign off on the resolution and put checks in the process to make sure the resolved issues do not reappear.
In addition, the Analyst will support the Process Engineering Lead in identifying automation opportunities and technologies to help Norstella to transform its Data Operations business and deliver significant automation to allow the business to scale efficiently using a data-driven approach. The Process Engineering team will act as a conduit between Data Operations, Data Science, Data Engineering and Product Management to automate complex or high-volume processes that ingest unstructured data into our core platforms.

Responsibilities:
·       Understand the end-to-end process of acquiring and authoring master data to curate valuable content that powers Norstella’s industry-leading products.
·       Act as a subject matter expert on the workflow process, providing guidance and support to teams to ensure adherence to standard processes and best practices. Develop and maintain process documentation, including workflows, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and guidelines, keeping the documentation accurate and up to date.
·       Analyze the end-to-end workflow process and identify issues, pain points, and inefficiencies affecting operational performance.
·       Conduct detailed forensic analysis to investigate the root causes of operational issues arising from the technical implementation, such as missing sources, incorrect task assignments, and other process breakdowns.
·       Study and discover process deficiencies and provide recommendations for workflow redesign, automation, tooling, and technology enhancements to streamline the workflow process. Deliver agreed implementation plans at pace to support data operations transformation.
·       Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data science/engineering, content, change management teams, to develop, test and implement process fixes, and process improvements based on the findings from the analysis.
·       Monitor and track process performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of implemented improvements. Monitor to make sure the defects fixed do not reappear and process improvements made do not break or impact other parts of the workflow.
·       Report issues and results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders at a regular cadence.

Qualifications and Skills:
·       Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or a related field. Relevant certifications are a plus.
·       Knowledge of the following tools:
o  Microsoft Visio, Lucidchart (Expert level)
o  Microsoft Excel including automation, data manipulation, aggregation, etc. (Intermediate level)
o  SharePoint (Expert level)
o  Project Management tools: JIRA, Monday.com, Confluence etc. (Expert level)
o  Data Analysis and Visualization: PowerBI (Intermediate level)
o  Automation tools: PowerAutomate (Beginner level)
·       Previous experience working in a data operations environment with colleagues in the US and UK is desirable.
·       Proven experience in analyzing and improving workflow processes, preferably in a cross-functional environment.
·       Experience defining and delivering transformative automation programmes is desirable, including familiarity with working in process mapping for automation, participation in automation cycles, and actual writing of some or full process automation.
·       Motivated self-starter with strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
·       Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct forensic analysis and identify root causes of process issues.
·       Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines, working with a sense of urgency to deliver against the opportunity that awaits.
·       Excellent collaboration skills and evidence of working across different teams to resolve issues that cut across teams.
