Responsibilities

As the Manager of the Underwriting Specialist team, you will:
 
●       Drive the development, adaptation and implementation of the Underwriting specialist team in our Gurgaon office.
●       Drive daily production including monitoring bottlenecks and reporting to Senior of Underwriting on daily progress as it relates to production targets
●       Gather and discuss monthly key performance indicators (KPIs), manage results & propel improvement.
●       Monitor capacity and coverage, promote culture, conduct check-ins with direct reports & People Operations
●       Monitor potential escalations and maintaining department service level agreements (SLA)
●       Push continued education of the organization; work with OpE (Operations Enablement) to develop and conduct ongoing training which supports OpCo initiatives and further drives Underwriting augmentation.
 
About you

We are looking for a manager that can lead this new team to success. We’ll be looking for the following characteristics during our search for you:

●       12+ years of experience in underwriting FNMA, FHLMC, FHA and Jumbo mortgages
●       4+ years of experience in managing within a mortgage operations team in the capacity of Manager or 7+ years of experience in managing team within a mortgage team in the capacity of Assistant manager and Team Lead.
●       Prior experience managing mid to large size team (more than 20 FTE). 
●       Knowledge of agency underwriting product guidelines
●       Familiarity with Desktop Underwriter (DU) & Loan Product Advisor (LPA)
●       Strong communication, organization, and time management skills
●       Ability to troubleshoot and solve problems independently
●       Ability to maintain composure in a fast-paced environment
●       The drive to build something new.
●       Certification in Six Sigma and data analytics is desirable but not compulsory.
