Position :Project Control Analyst

Work Hours          : Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Eastern Time

Salary Range         :$1,500-$1,800 (Depending on the interview result and client’s 

approval)

It is a government consulting firm that serves federal clients primarily in the public safety, emergency management and business intelligence spaces. 

Overview:

As a Project Control Analyst at our Corporate Headquarters, you'll collaborate closely with the Controller and Project Managers to analyze and organize project financial data, identify opportunities and risks, and provide recommendations for enhancements. Reporting directly to the Controller, you'll work alongside account managers and project managers to analyze data and trends, ensuring efficient project financial management.

Responsibilities:

  • Review awarded contracts to determine appropriate accounting treatment and ensure accurate project setup within the accounting system.
  • Maintain project workforce details, labor categories, rates, billing schedules, and other project-related data within the accounting system.
  • Monitor and manage project subcontractor costs, ensuring alignment with project budgets and objectives.
  • Track and oversee funding allocations for travel and other direct costs associated with projects.
  • Prepare and review monthly invoices, maintaining detailed supporting data for all invoiced costs.
  • Develop and maintain project-level reports and dashboards to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Enter modifications and track expenditures within the accounting system to ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Effectively communicate billing and project finance concepts and issues to project managers, the Controller, and senior management.

Requirements

Requirements:

  • With at least 3 years of relevant experience
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets for data analysis and reporting.
  • Experience extracting project-related data (e.g., funding, labor categories, labor rates) from contract documents.
  • Familiarity with project-based accounting applications.
  • Strong understanding of financial regulations, with knowledge of the United States Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) preferred.
  • Advanced modeling and reporting skills.
  • Excellent communication skills, including written, interpersonal, and presentation abilities.
  • Highly organized with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ability to simplify complex data, organize information effectively, and interpret financial insights.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills and ability to drive initiatives forward.

Preferred Experience/Skills:

  • 2 to 5 years of experience in government services contracting.
  • Experience with billing using project-based accounting systems in a government contracting environment.
  • Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Smartsheet, Unanet, or Slack.
