As a Senior DevOps Architect, you will lead a team of skilled DevOps Engineers who work with diverse and innovative cloud technologies to deliver high-quality solutions. You will use your expertise in DevOps practices, cloud architecture, and automation frameworks to collaborate with cross-functional teams and ensure the optimal performance, reliability, and scalability of our applications and services.

 

 

 

Who you are

 

You are a seasoned, passionate, and hands-on Senior DevOps Architect with in-depth skills within Public Cloud and DevOps technologies. Your breadth of knowledge and depth of experience allow you to act as a leader and SME while developing innovative solutions. You are comfortable with providing guidance, strategy, and advising on best practices for a variety of clients and technical environments. Your solid communication skills mean that you can easily present to technical and non-technical audiences alike, including C-level executives. You are eager to join an exciting, rapidly growing team at a company where you can immediately start to make a great impact. 


Nexustek’s Cloud delivery organization has both professional and managed services practices.  Your focus will be split across both delivery practices as demand requires. 

 


You know how to:

  • Serve as the primary technical contact for clients, understanding their business requirements and translating them into effective cloud solutions. 
  • Lead the design and architecture of cloud infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security, and cost-efficiency.
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to DevOps engineers and other team members.
  • Design and manage CI/CD pipelines to automate the deployment process.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in cloud infrastructure technologies, cloud security best practices, networking, and automation tools (e.g., Rundeck, Terraform, Ansible). 
  • Oversee the configuration and management of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Attend CAB and be overall accountable for the DevOps teams code review approval.
  • Scope work effort and t-shirt sizing for Sprints.  Attending retrospectives to create value and align expectations.
  • Demonstrate verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and clients.
  • Lead discussions with leadership as the voice of the DevOps team.  
  • Conduct training and knowledge-sharing sessions to promote DevOps best practices across the organization.
  • Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure the health and performance of Infrastructure.
  • Analyze system performance and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Ensure robust security practices are followed in all DevOps processes.
  • Stay up to date with the latest industry trends and technologies in DevOps and cloud computing.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve existing DevOps tools and practices.
  • Drive innovation by exploring new tools, techniques, and methodologies to enhance the DevOps environment.

 

 

You are skilled in most of these areas:

  • 8+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud architecture, or related roles
  • Strong experience with CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI, or CircleCI).
  • Expertise in containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and infrastructure best practices
  • Experience with scripting and programming languages (Python, Bash, etc.)
  • Expertise in Agile and DevOps methodologies
  • Experience in Managed Services, preferred
  • Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing

 

One or more of the following architect-level certifications may be required: 

  • AWS Certified Solutions Architect
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert
  • Google Professional Cloud Architect
  • Multiple platform certifications, or equivalent experience (Windows, Linux, etc.).
