We are recruiting on behalf of our client, Grindley Williams Engineering (GWE) in Lakeland, Florida.  This job posting is for full-time, w2 employment with GWE.


Our client, Grindley Williams in Lakeland, Florida, is seeking a full-time Engineering Technician I to join their team – and we are helping them find the best candidate! The role of the Engineering Technician is to assist the Professional Engineer in charge by completing field work as assigned. The most qualified candidates will live in/near Sarasota County, be willing to travel occasionally and work long days.

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Drives safely to and from site inspections on field days.
  • Communication and coordination with the Professional Engineering staff.
  • Effectively utilizes field tools and technology to assist engineers with data collection on site (ie photography).
  • Demonstrates knowledge and proficiency with forensic engineering terms/methodology.
  • Willingness and ability to obtain licenses/certifications as required.
  • Drafts engineering reports as needed.
  • Performs miscellaneous additional tasks as necessary.
  • Overnight travel as needed.


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must live in/near Sarasota County
  • Willing to travel overnight occasionally, which may include weekends in response to major storm damage.
  • Valid and active US Drivers License with clean Motor Vehicle Record
  • License to operate a drone would be a PLUS, but not required

Compensation$18.00/hour+
