Specialist II, IS

Job Description:

Provide engineering support to customers, support personnel, and field support staff on systems and product issues. Collaborate with cross-functional team(s) to develop and enhance solutions.

• Work with customers and company personnel to define technical problems, determine the solution and assist customer in implementing the fix.
• Plan, design, and evaluate new and existing computer network systems and services, including local area networks, wide area networks, intranets, and the Internet, providing analytical, technical, and administrative support.
• Assist cross-functional and client facing teams with various site performance functions such as Site Reliability Engineering framework, including integrated, automated monitoring and self-healing.
• Plan, oversee, develop, and implement network policies and procedures to ensure network integrity as maintenance and modification projects to existing applications are undertaken.
• Troubleshoot network issues.
• Install and upgrade network equipment and software.
• Create and maintain documentation related to network configuration, network mapping, processes, and service records.
• Execute requirements within service level agreements (SLAs) on infrastructure tasks to improve reliability, quality, security, and performance.

Education Required:  

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline.  
Or, any combination of education and experience which would provide the required qualifications for the position.

Experience Required:

2-4 years of experience in Network engineering.
2-4 years of experience in Windows Server administration.
2-4 years of experience deploying on and operating in the public AWS Cloud.

License/Certification Required:

• Microsoft Certifications, MCP, MCSA
• Good Knowledge in Linux OS.
• AWS CCP or any AWS certification
• Software Deployment Automation (2-5 years)

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• Knowledge of: Network security concepts with application knowledge of various enterprise security point technologies, managed security services; application architecture design and principles; Public Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP) services; computer systems and infrastructure; Windows and Linux Operating Systems; programming/scripting languages (PowerShell, Python, Java, etc.); Inter-Application Communication (IAC)/Configuration Management Tools (terraform, puppet, etc.); computer networking solutions; Application Development Operations (DevOps); Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) with advanced skill level in Excel.
• Skill in: Working as member of a team; communicating effectively; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships; presentation with high degree of comfort speaking with large and small group audiences.
• Ability to: Demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills; multi-task projects and work independently in a fast-paced environment; demonstrate excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize workload, meet deadlines, and multi-task while maintaining attention to detail.
• At least 2 years of hands on experience in Windows/Linux Server troubleshooting, Active directory & SQL (basic query, jobs, backup/snapshot restore etc.,)
• Strong experience in managing Windows/Linux server infrastructures and effectively troubleshoot performance issues, analyze bottlenecks and make recommendations to improve performance of the solution.
• Execute routine maintenance tasks on cloud instances, encompassing Windows and Linux server setup, patching, hardening, and updates.
