The PBPK Modeling Scientist will lead modeling and simulation to address objectives with client projects such as FIH predictions, formulation design/optimization, population simulations, and DDI predictions.

Location: This position can be 100% remote or hybrid near one of our locations (Buffalo, NY; Durham, NC; Lancaster, CA; Paris, FR; or Pittsburgh, PA)

Job Responsibilities: 

• Lead research collaboration projects with industry partners and regulatory agencies
• Conduct in-house research and contracted studies for our clients
• Discussing study results with internal and external customers 
• Assist in developing and testing software products
• Travel to client sites to provide training and consultation
• Promote software applications and consulting services with clients 
• Review, compile, and document data from various sources
• Build and validate PBBM/PBPK models
• Contribute to the advancement of scientific algorithms and approaches
• Serve as technical lead on PBBM/PBPK modeling and simulation client projects
• Lead study proposals, modeling reports, white papers, and journal publications while clearly describing model development, verification, and validation
• Help in the preparation of training materials
• Attend and present at scientific conferences
• Execute a wide range of activities while receiving some direction from more senior employees
• Assist project leaders in leading and managing project teams
• Help junior level employees develop scientific skills and integrate into the team environment  
• Identify problems and outline solutions using critical thinking skills, scientific knowledge, and project requirements
• Identify and promote opportunities for professional development and training 
• Participate as a lead in interdisciplinary scientific teams across all the company
• Routinely lead the development and application of a computational model to support the advancement of simulations software or consulting services
• Actively promote software applications and consulting service offerings and support with clients and prospects through a variety of communication channels 
• Independently design, write, test, and use computer code for M&S applications
• Lead, manage, and work with the team of personnel necessary to implement projects and programs 
• Lead project team meetings
• Build partnerships with clients and advise clients on future strategic direction  
• Contribute to the development and refinement of company standards and processes
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications: 

• 5+ years of PBBM/PBPK modeling applications experience from preclinical development to clinical pharmacology
• Drive collaborative and supportive behaviors to support key scientific and business deliverables 
• Consistently display flexibility, prioritization, multi-tasking on assigned projects or business initiatives 
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills 
• Extremely detail-oriented
• Highly self-motivated and willing to take on challenges
• Effective critical-thinking, problem-solving, and organizational skills
• Great presentation skills
• Possess effective relationship-building skills
• Work well independently and as part of the team   
• Fluent in multiple languages a plus
• Maintain a positive attitude while interacting with colleagues and clients 
• Build and strengthen strategic partnerships across the industry
• Occasional travel for meetings and trainings 

Education: 

• Masters in pharmaceutical science, biostatistics, biomedical engineering, chemistry, or related field
• PhD in pharmaceutical science, biostatistics, biomedical engineering, chemistry, or related field preferred
