Design Manager

This is a remote position.

Designed.co is a software-enabled graphic design subscription built for leading brands of the future. We leverage technology to bridge the gap between amazing US-based designers and leading brands. The result is quality design without the cost and complexity. Our unique business model has disrupted the traditional graphic design agency and has helped us achieve tremendous growth. As a part of our growth, we are on the hunt for our next Design Manager. This strategic leadership role will execute the growth/management of the creative team, work with executives on proposals and help to evolve our unique DesignOps OS for the design industry.

This leadership role you will identify future talent, recruit, train, mentor and manage a rapidly growing team utilizing tech to help streamline and manage a large team more effectively. As a part of the team, you will inspire and lead by example with a depth of knowledge in multidisciplinary design skills. You will be responsible for up to 20 1099 design contractors. 

A day in the life as a Design Manager at Designed.co will feel like: 

• Mentor, inspire, and lead a team (up to 20) remote, multidisciplinary designers
  
• Identify new design talent, screen candidates 
  
• Coach and onboard new design talent on our processes and procedures
  
• Help interpret creative briefs and understand client goals
  
• Manage daily production, balance workloads across the design team
  
• Ensure deadlines are met on time
  
• Identify and document streamlined processes and enhance design ops
  
• Triage client and designer challenges and implements solutions 
  
• Be on top of the industry, trends, and culture 
  
• Traveling to onsite management meetings up to 4X a year (Miami Beach)
  
• Would need to be on-site (Miami Beach) for the first 4 weeks

The compensation range for this position is based on experience: 

Base Salary: $70,000-80,000K + Bonus

Required Experience

• 3 - 5 years in a professional graphic design management role (creative director, art director, design manager, or equivalent) preferably managing teams of 10 or more
  
• Degree in fine arts, design management, or equivalent
  
• Expert level in all of Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch & Figma, lead by example as a master of design and communication.
  
• Working knowledge of all design disciplines and processes (print, branding, web, packaging, presentations etc…)
  
• Advanced project/time management, employee management, and leadership skills
  
• Proven experience as a designer and a multi-disciplinary portfolio
