THE OPPORTUNITY - BI ENGINEER -  Bristol / Remote

Who – experience and mind-set

We are looking for a BI engineer to turn data into useful information that can be used to make business decisions. He/she should help to model and provide data that is accurate, reliable and easily accessible. The BI Engineer will be responsible for the development and implementation of ETL processes, production support and performance optimisation of our data warehouse. He/she will also help to produce reports and will give support to the different departments of the company, regarding data related issues and requests.

If you head deep into the mountains on adventures on a regular basis, whether it's skiing, climbing, biking, or hiking, you'll be able to intuitively grasp what users value, and the importance they place on our product as they discover, plan, live, and share their adventures. Some areas of interest, expertise and attitude that you should bring:
    • Works with BI Analysts to deliver forecasts and supports the decision making process.
    • Collects, analyzes, and shares data to assist the product team (and others) in key business metrics improvements, customer experience, and business results.
    • Develops, tests and implements BI solutions such as databases, queries, views, reports, and dashboards.
    • Creates scalable, efficient, automated processes for large scale data analyses.
    • Monitors and maintains the BI data sources and infrastructure.
Qualification and experience
    • Experience in working with relational databases, particularly PostgreSQL.
    • Experience with Python, SQL and data science specific tools like Pandas, numPy, R and Jupiter.
    • Experience in database maintenance, tuning and optimisation.
    • Experience in ETL process development and related tools, particularly Airflow.
    • Cloud Tech: Experience with Container Concept, Cloud and Orchestration, we use mainly Docker, AWS, Kubernetes.
    • Experience with Source Control, CI and infrastructure.
    • We expect several years of working in the field.
You will have a lot of autonomy at work. We offer a largely flexible environment. At our working hubs in Berlin (DE), Vilnius (LT) and Chamonix (FR) you'll be able to meet up with your teammates to work on a project together or just spend some time in an office environment.

We are mostly remote by nature, and hence value sync time strongly. We also value our hubs and trying to keep a balance. Still, you needn't worry about your calendar being full of regular meetings. You work with bleeding edge technology, use and run them in development and production. You are enabled to actively create and contribute to processes and ways of working.
