Job description

This is a remote position.

Backend PHP Developer
Fully Remote - Must be based in the UK

As an innovative Fintech within financial services, my client is enhancing its bespoke, cutting edge CRM platform - which enables my client to continue to implement and expand a broad range of products to residential and commercial customers.

My client is actively seeking an experienced Backend PHP Developer to join their team and contribute towards the continual success of their robust market leading innovative platform.

What will I be doing?

  • Developing and implementing game-changing features for their platform
  • Taking a leading role in a cross-functional team working across the entire application lifecycle
  • Looking for opportunities to improve their platform, identifying and implementing improvements for reliability, scalability and performance
  • Using your experience working on high-scale, production-grade projects to make sure stuff gets done and all code is up to scratch

Requirements

Our client is always modernising their tech stack, but their core technologies remain PHP and MySQL, and their bespoke proprietary CRM platform is built on the Symfony Framework with Doctrine ORM, so you’ll need good experience with that (or Laravel) in order to find your way around.

More modern bits of their platform are built as micro-services in Symfony and Node.js on top of AWS’s serverless offerings, so experience with those things would be advantageous.

The business use a stack of other AWS technologies including EC2, ECS, Elasticache, S3 and Lambda all built and managed with CloudFormation and Terraform. However, they don’t expect you to know everything, so feel free to apply even if you don’t have experience in all of these.

Our client works with agile methodologies and are always looking to increase test coverage across their applications, so having a good understanding of the benefits of these will also give you a good head start.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary, £45,000 - £70,000 (DOE)
  • Private medical insurance
  • Flexible working (remote working included)
  • Pension, paid holiday and more.
