We are searching for a skilled Indirect Tax Manager to join one of the largest hospitality companies in the country. This is a direct-hire opportunity, and 100% remote . Work Environment

Fully remote! MUST LIVE IN ONE OF THE FOLLOWING STATES: AK, AL, AZ, CA, CO, DE, FL, GA, HI, ID, IL, IN, LA, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MT, NC, NH, NJ, NM, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, RI, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WA, WI, or WY
Pacific hours to start, but with flexibility after onboarding/training. Most of the team works PST, so it would be nice to have somebody that can somewhat match that.
During peak deadline time (quarterly deadlines, monthly close), roughly 50 hours a week, with lots of flexibility on hours
40 hours a week during non peak times

Description

Manage the full scope of company’s indirect taxes
Set team timelines to ensure tax deadlines are met consistently
Identify areas for efficiency improvements and implement strategy to improve tax processes and controls
Research tax concepts to apply to tax fillings and internal processes
Evaluate tax filings to ensure accuracy and compliance
Prepare hospitality tax account reconciliations for financial monthly and yearly close
Review tax team's work and mentor/coach tax accountants
Work with non-finance stakeholder to ensure tax procedures are followed and information gathered allows for tax compliance
Manage SOX controls as they relate to indirect taxes
Collaboratively set team goals and metrics
Work with misc. government agencies to maintain tax accounts and tax compliance

Skills & Qualifications

5+ years of tax accounting experience within a large company environment (public accounting OR industry accounting)
4+ years of indirect tax specific experience
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Accounting/Finance
Advanced to expert Excel skills
Active CPA preferred, not required
Public accounting firm experience preferred, not required
Must be US-based, and able to work from home with reliable internet connection and flexible hours (PST preferred)
