Myriad Genetics discovers, develops, and commercializes molecular genetic tests that determine the risk developing disease, assess disease progression, and guide treatment decisions in Oncology, Women’s Health, and Mental Health. We are seeking a Director of Market Research to develop and execute the enterprise’s market and voice of customer research program. This Market Research Director will build a best-in-class market research program including but not limited to driving client/customer and competitor insights that influence product and experience design; delivering on clear, executable insights for executive leadership by mining quantitative and qualitative data; building, improving, and managing enterprise-wide responsibility of Myriad’s Customer Experience (NPS) program; and embedding timely, accurate and relevant insights into Myriad’s market positioning across all business units. This Market Research Director will report to the VP of Commercial Strategy and Planning.

What you will do:**

  • Own annual cross-portfolio ATU study that informs all product level assessment for the year.
  • Own annual Brand Equity research and socialization of results among BUs, Enterprise and Executive leadership.
  • Advance the Myriad Genetics Customer Experience (VoC/NPS) program across the enterprise, while fully owning the Loyalty survey component for the company.
  • Accountable for implementing the NPS program feedback loop and creating a system of accountability across the enterprise.
  • Align with key business, market and product teams to support research inputs that inform product designs and market launches, with full ownership and responsibility of the primary research conducted to inform business cases.
  • Ownership of key vendor relationships, like Medallia and responsibility to program manage effective implementation of the tech stack (i.e., integration with Salesforce) in support of key business needs across the enterprise.
  • Support the commercial strategy team (Sr. Director and Director of Market Intelligence) with needs arising from ad hoc projects requested by leadership.

Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in market research and 6+ years in healthcare (preferably biotech, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries)
  • Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s Degree or certificates in market research preferred
  • Education or experience in business, marketing, market research, life science (i.e. biology), entrepreneurial studies, social science, or related field
  • Adept at market research design, execution, and insight synthesis
  • Able to triage complex business objectives into discrete questions that can be informed with primary and secondary market inputs.
  • Experience with the following:
    • self-serve Market Research tools or platforms
    • ownership of market research vendor relationships
    • CX program platforms, preferably with Certification in Medallia
    • enterprise level experience or cross-matrixed organizational experience
  • Strong organizational skills and leadership orientation
  • Business acumen: critical thinking, analysis, problem solving skills and driving to insights
  • Leadership: Demonstrated ability to establish and lead programs / teams
  • Influence: proven ability to work with/influence across all levels and functions within the organization to achieve actionable results through others
  • Agility: high degree of flexibility and the ability to work within a fluid, constantly changing environment.
  • Proactive: thinks ahead with a focus on closely managing stakeholders to limit the element of surprise and unnecessary churn.
  • Self-starter: able to work as an independent contributor while networking across the organization.
