Job description

Position PurposeWe are in a period of growth within our Research department and are looking for an Advisory Director within the Security & Privacy practice at Info-Tech Research Group. As an Advisory Director you will be responsible for delivering measurable value to our members by working with them remotely and on-site to help improve their strategy, technology, processes, and people. Additionally, the Advisory Director is responsible for generating insight and providing expertise during the development of our research content.Our promise to youYou will work for a rapidly growing company that understands the importance of supporting employees through flexibility, inclusiveness, learning and development, internal career mobility, measurement of the Employee Experience and actioning on employee feedback, and building strong relationships. What you will do, includes, but not limited to:Advisory Calls with Clients - Leading advisory calls to help our Members realize practical value from the use of Info-Tech’s research materials. - Listening to the information provided by Members and recommending ways they can use the research to work through a challenge or project, while ensuring their key initiative plans fulfill their strategic mandates.

  • Identify further areas of assistance required for clients after initial experience, and book appropriate subsequent experiences.

Facilitate Workshops - Properly scope out the workshop effort with clients over the phone a few weeks ahead of online or on-site workshop delivery. - Assist in developing of Statements of Work (SOW) to formalize the objective, agenda, and deliverables of workshops. - Using Info-Tech’s published research to facilitate a series of activities with Members and their teams. - Throughout the workshop, collecting activity outputs from participants and compiling them into a polished final deliverable for the Member at the end of the engagement. - Identify further areas of advisory assistance required by clients after the workshop.

Research   - Interviewing Subject Matter Experts, finding and reading relevant literature in your assigned topic, and using the information gathered to generate insights.  - Cultivating insights into a framework or methodology and building supporting tools and resources for publish on our website and use by Info-Tech Members. 

  • Monitor ongoing developments in various core security technology areas via research and vendor briefings and advise our members on trends and industry directions.

Cross-Departmental Collaboration & Support - Contributing to research producing teams by identifying technology trends, proposing research topics, and providing input on research projects assigned to others.

  • Provide subject matter expertise and feedback to other departments across the Research Division and to partnering Divisions outside of Research, like Sales, Public Relations & Marketing, etc., teams as needed.

  • Design and build of high-quality keynote/other presentations, and successful delivery of presentations as needed.

 To be successful, you will need:  Education and Experience - Undergraduate degree required (business or technology preferred). An MA, MBA, or MSc beneficial. - 10+ years’ experience designing and supporting security-based solutions, such as administrating and/or engineering Identity Life cycle Management, SOC, SIEM, DLP and other security-based technologies. - Proven experience gathering requirements, analyzing needs, and providing technical solutions to meet client needs. - Highly specialized skills such as experience in lead roles in security, privacy, risk, or compliance (ISO, CISO, privacy, risk or compliance officer, etc.). - Industry certifications, such as CISSP, CIPP or CISM, an asset. - Presentation and facilitation experience demonstrated through prior client-facing engagements important. - History of gaining and maintaining trusted advisor status with management. Strong working relationships with C-suite considered beneficial.
