Job title: Certified US-based Medical Coder

Omega Healthcare is actively seeking experienced US-based, certified coders with at least two years of recent coding and/or registry/(abstracting) experience plus applicable credentials/certification(s).

Job Description:

Understand the client requirements for certified medical coders and specifications of the project and code the charts accordingly.
Meet the productivity targets of clients within the stipulated time.
Ensure that the deliverables to the client adhere to the quality standards.
Prepare and maintain status reports.
Experienced in systems including Optum 360, CAC, Cerner, Epic, Allscripts, and more.

Skill Requirements:

Valid credentials from AACP and/or AHIMA
2 years of recent production coding experience
Must reside in one of the 50 US states or other US territories.
Must have 80% of the following coding setting skills:

Inpatient Coder

We require at least three of the following specialties within the past year:

Gen/Med Surgery, Mom & Baby, Cardiac/Cardiac Surgery, Vascular, Neuro/Neurosurgery, Orthopedic, Pediatric, NICU, Trauma, Spinals, Burns, Academic/Teaching

Outpatient Coder

We require same day surgery and at least two of the following specialties within the past year:

General Surgery, Cardiac with CPT coding, Orthopedic Surgery, Interventional Radiology with CPT Coding

Profee Coder

We require same day surgery and at least two of the following specialties within the past year:

Cardiac, General, OB, Orthopedic, to include E/M experience.

Cancer Registrar

We require two years of recent hands-on abstracting experience, plus one full year’s experience with a valid CTR certification.

Trauma Registrar

We require two years of recent trauma registry abstracting experience, the American Trauma Society registrar course, ICD-10 coding course, and AIS course.
