Job description

At BASF’s vegetable seeds business, it is their ambition to make healthy eating enjoyable and sustainable. Together and in collaboration with partners BASF is eager to improve the vegetable varieties and solutions for customers, the vegetable value chain and consumers worldwide. To further develop and grow this ambition we are looking for  3 Account Managers High Tech Crops (hydroponics, cucumber & tomato).

Your Job

The focus of this job is to develop a market position and market share of APV crops (e.g. Cucumber / Lettuce) as well as build up a long-term relationship with potential national and/or international customers that are of strategic importance for APV to gain a strong position in the reference markets, in line with our M&S strategy.

Location

The Account Manager can work from a home office.

Sales
  • Plan, review, adapt and execute the annual and/or more annual sales plans
  • Introduce company products and services to Strategic- or Key Customers
  • Steer the customer team to ensure the successful management and implementation of customer business plans with all related short- and long-term objectives
  • Build long-lasting trustful relationships with selected customers. Develop a thorough understanding of customers’ needs, requirements, and objectives to improve the customer experience. Customers can be direct or indirect customers.
Marketing
  • Provide market, price, and product information in line with M&S strategy to contribute to the formulation of the marketing and sales plan together with Customer and Crop Marketing.
  • Improve APV market intelligence in the working area, updates on market trends, new traits and potentials that could open new sales opportunities.
  • Contribute to strengthening the knowledge and excellence of the Global and Regional Crop Teams.
  • Organize promotion activities. e.g.: demo fields, campaigns, and customer events.
Product Development
  • Contribute to the trial program to come up with proposals regarding new assortment.
  • Manage new variety’s introductions: propose price level and product forms in line with M&S strategy
  • Together with the PD department, provide technical support to customers. e.g.; growing concepts.

Requirements

Your profile
  • Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Business or Marketing
  • Min 5 years experience in a sales-related position in the vegetable seeds business
  • Proactive approach to Key Account Management and customer relationship management processes
  • Proven relationship builder at all levels including company owners, decision-makers and senior influencers
  • Excellent communication skills and fluent English and Dutch
