As we continue our evolution and growth into a leading HCM SaaS technology provider to businesses, we are seeking our next Area Sales Manager supporting our Mid-Market team on the West Coast. The Area Sales Manager is responsible for leading a team engaged in the sale of technical services, products, and systems in the 50 – 499 employee space. This individual sets sales targets, develops comprehensive sales plans, and coaches the sales team to achieve or exceed performance goals. The Area Sales Manager stays informed on market developments, industry trends, and competitor activity, utilizing deep technical acumen to drive sales through compelling presentations. This role also involves managing contract negotiations, fostering key customer relationships, and collaborating with internal technical and marketing teams to contribute to the product roadmap.

Responsibilities: - Set and communicate clear sales targets and goals for the team. - Coach and mentor sales representatives to meet or exceed performance targets. The focus of these targets is New Logo’s generated through both cold calling/prospecting. - Develop comprehensive sales plans and forecasts to generate a steady pipeline of prospects. - Stay current on market developments, industry trends, and competitor activity. - Ensure the team delivers compelling technical presentations that drive sales. - Utilize deep technical acumen to educate the team on products, competitors, and prospects. - Manage contract negotiations and relationships with key customers. - Collaborate with internal technical and marketing teams to utilize customer insights for the product roadmap.

Qualifications: - Proven ability to bring in new clients, cultivate long-term relationships with key referral accounts, strategically leveraging upselling or cross-selling opportunities. - In-depth experience in competitor analysis, translating insights into actionable strategies for effective market positioning. - Proficient in negotiating and closing complex sales contracts, demonstrating a keen understanding of legal terms and implications. - Track record of setting and achieving challenging sales targets aligned with overall business objectives. - Experience in developing and executing effective sales strategies aligned with organizational goals. - Manages and optimizes inside and outside sales processes, leveraging technology and data for efficiency. - Proficient in defining and tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), utilizing data for continuous improvement in sales performance.

Education & Experience - Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent work experience. - Experience: Proven track record with at least 2 - 5 years of experience in sales, with a focus on technical products and services, demonstrated success in a managerial role, with 1-3 years of supervisory experience, extensive knowledge of sales processes, operations, and department functions, familiarity with CRM software like ZoomInfo, Outreach and Salesforce.com and presentation tools, and continued professional development and a commitment to staying current with industry trends.
