Essential Position Functions

  • Provide specialized instruction and support to students with diverse learning needs, ensuring individualized education plans (IEPs) are implemented effectively.
  • Develop and deliver engaging and differentiated lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student.
  • Utilize various instructional strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles and abilities.
  • Employ assistive technologies and adaptive materials to enhance student learning experiences.
  • Monitor student progress, assess their academic performance, and provide constructive feedback to students and their families.
  • Collaborate with parents, school administrators, and other professionals to develop and implement comprehensive educational programs.
    Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social and emotional well-being of students.
  • Attend and actively participate in team meetings, professional development sessions, and ongoing training to enhance teaching skills and stay updated with best practices in special education.

Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities

  • Knowledgeable of state testing procedures and requirements;
  • Knowledgeable of district testing programs and software;
  • Detail-oriented with exceptional organizational skills;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and families;
  • Excellent time-management skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently;
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and coordinate multiple projects to meet specific deadlines;
  • Ability to maintain the confidentiality of privileged and sensitive information;
  • Ability to maintain professional behavior, appearance, and work ethic;
  • Ability to maintain a professional and calm during stressful times.

Education & Certification Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid Texas Educator Certificate (not expired)
  • Proven experience working with students with diverse learning needs, preferably in a remote setting.
  • Strong knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Demonstrated ability to design and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Proficient in utilizing educational technology tools and software for virtual instruction.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Positive attitude, resilience, and adaptability in a remote work environment.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous improvement.
