Job Description

Ignited by customer needs and expectations, the Ford Model e is crafting an outstanding experience for customers transitioning into the exciting world of battery electric vehicles. We are seeking an interconnection subject matter expert to bridge new electric vehicles capabilities, like V2X, into the electric industry to make Ford’s electric vehicles serve customers in ways their vehicles have never done before. Ford’s Energy Services portfolio continues to grow, and seamless access to the market for customers is as important as the new capabilities customers can access with their electric vehicles.

Energy Service solutions make EV adoption an easier choice for customers because their vehicles will unlock value, increasing the role EVs play in their lives. Interconnection is an experience foreign to most customers, and making that process easy by working with the electric industry, internal Ford stakeholders, and technical and policy teams will streamline adoption and access to new customer services.

To succeed in this role, a candidate will need to navigate the fragmented landscape of the interconnection process and requirements to streamline positive outcomes for Ford’s new technology through their introductions to industry and adoption. **

Responsibilities**

Key Roles and Responsibilities of Position:

  • Lead Ford’s interconnection approach to market for current and future products and services.
  • Lead each interconnection engagements and develop methods to streamline processes.
  • Own and develop Ford’s roadmap to market for product portfolio access for full market participation.
  • Work with business units to ensure proper prioritization and feasibility of execution for new capabilities and market entries.
  • Interface with technical teams within Ford, through partnerships and suppliers to deliver successful approaches to product and service introductions.
  • Lead interactions with the electric industry to adopt new vehicle and electric industry intersections.
  • Cooperate with policy and government affairs teams to develop coordinated and wholistic approaches to entering new markets and identifying how to meet challenges across the fragmented landscape efficiently.
  • Represent Ford in associations and groups to champion Ford’s and Ford’s customers’ interests to provide and gain access to new electric vehicle capabilities without compromising business or customer experience.
  • Represent to leadership challenges and needs to achieve success.

Qualifications

Qualifications Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical degree
  • 4+ years of direct experience with developing interconnection requirements or preparing interconnection filings to electric utilities.
  • Has experience working with or strong knowledge of the electric industry.
